I got to go plant shopping today!

So I took another pilgrimage to Succulent Garden in Castroville ca. I spent 30 dollars and these are the plants I got..

I also bought a crassula perforata for a friend which isn't in the picture. I'm not sure what kind of lithops I have, but I love them as NOIDs. None of the plants came with tags so I have to look the names up for spelling, but I know many of you are pretty familiar with this plants.

Also I was wondering if anyone could share some care info on the Faucaria tuberculosa 'super warty' that plant is really hard to find information about online.

the best part are the prices! 5 dollars for the 4" and 3 dollars for the 2"

Faucaria like a LOT of light. If you are growing indoors, as much as possible. Water when the leaves shrink and get a bit smaller/softer. Do not over water or else it will turn to mush overnight. They will slow down when it's extremely hot, but still need some water.

I prefer to use a mix with very low water retention to make life much simpler and easier. Mine flower almost continuously from early fall to late spring.

Nice haul! Especially love the Portulaca molokiniensis. I've never seen them sold around here so I bought one online recently.

Hi Tina, Dont cut it back! The bulb will put out quite a bit of energy to produce new leaves,reducing your chances for blooms next year. Give the pot a good soak in a bucket of water but dont put the water level over the bulb. You dont want to get water in the top of the bulb,it can cause rot. msrose, the problems with my Bassett sofa were with the cushions and the fabric. My sofa had a semi-attached back, which was always lumpy and the seat cushions would flatten out and become lumpy in a very short period of time. I think Bassett replaced the seat cushions 3 or 4 times before they finally said no more. They did come out one time and add more fiber fill to the back cushions. They pretty much told me I would have to continue to do that on my own for the life of the sofa. As for the fabric, it did not wear well at all. On one arm, they had not extended the padding out to the end of the arm and the wood of the frame cut through the fabric. Also, the seams they used to join two pieces of fabric were so tiny that they ended up pulling apart. Bassett wouldn't cover any of the fabric problems and I ended up paying a furniture repair company over $100 to deal with the seam issue. My neighbor had similar issues with the cushions. I had heard bad things about La-z-boy (after I bought mine, of course), but so far mine are holding up pretty well. I do have to give the loose back cushions a "restorative massage" once a week or so to get them back in shape, but once I do that they aren't too bad. Totally Confused

The shape of the leaves says aglaonema and not pothos to me. They have similar care requirements. If the plant were mine, I'd cut off that piece you have in your hand with a few inches of the stem and try rooting it in water, and I'd take the crown of the plant out of the pot, trim off dead roots and stems, and repot in a smaller container with fresh soil. You might also check at the Garden Clinic and Houseplant Forums for more advice.

Arkansas Girl, weeks later? Do you remember where you heard that? When I experienced some fatigue four days after my second shot I looked up delayed reaction, and the only thing I found was a reference to four or five days, especially for those who reacted with a rash. In my case it would have been about two weeks, and then the reaction lasting over a week. That seems unlikely, but thanks for the thought. Debby, it started about two weeks after the second shot but it's still going on a week later.

Ewemayo, thank you. I bought one a few years ago it wasn't the super warty variety just the one you see at the box stores and it turned to mush overnight. I was going to plant it in a mostly Pumice mix to try and prevent over watering issues this time. I have always steered clear of the faucaria after my last one turned to mush but when I touched the leaves of the ones at SG and felt how hard they were I decided to give it another go! I'll find a nice place outside to acclimate it to bright light/ full sun. thanks for the advice!

Liz the portulaca is one I always seen online but never see in the store. When I saw it at SG I decided I wanted to take it home. After I got it home and google imaged what more mature specimens look like I was even more pleased I decided on this one. With so many succulents to decide from at SG, after eliminating the ones I already have there is still a nice selection to choose from! I'm staying at a friends in Monterey, ca for the week which is only about a 20 minute drive to SG but I can't wait to get home and find pots for my new plants!

Good luck with the Faucaria! Once you figure them out, they are very easy and are quite rewarding/interesting Mesembs. =)
