I've got a paid-for DCS sitting in the dealer's warehouse waiting for me. The demolition commences Tuesday (if not tomorrow!) I've NEVER melted chocolate on my soon-to-be land-filled POS Kenny cooktop - totally inadequate and unpredictable temperature control. Mind you, over the next few weeks, I expect I will have many reasons to be consuming lots of 5 Minute Microwave Chocolate Cake....

Ginger St. Thomas, thanks for searching for me. I hadn't seen that one and it sounds as if it might be the one. Funny how parts of the measurements stick in your mind. Since I always doubled the recipe, 1 1/2 cups sugar always stuck in my mind. the ingredients are the same and I did replace the cream with a mix of half and half and 1%milk. Will let you know if it is THE ONE i'm looking for. MsAzadi, good question and I asked hubby. He sure looked at with a strange look, thought about it for a minute and then said "the hot fudge sauce of course, she's too old for me." Kept looking at me with a strange grin on his face though.

Thanks, everyone! Happy2b, we show up with our finished ornaments and exchange them. 20 or so are invited so we make 20 ornaments and we get one from each person there. We also bring a dish and eat and sometimes play a few crazy games before we exchange. We also talk about why or how we made what we did and talk about past parties, etc. I found one of my ornaments on our hostess's tree from 1993 and I know I went to a couple before that.

Yum, I'm with Linda, that ganache type topping is good by me! I also like the "one can of condensed milk, one cup of chocolate chips, one stick of butter" recipe. Melt the butter, add the chocolate chips until melted, stir in the condensed milk. The butter is a bit hard to stir in at first, but it will incorporate, then it's done. Or, this one that's a bit more involved: Hershey's Cocoa Hot Fudge Sauce 1/2 c. Hershey's cocoa 3/4 c. evaporated milk 1/3 c. light corn syrup 1/3 c. butter 1 tsp. vanilla Mix cocoa, milk and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils for 1 minute. Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla. Serve hot or cold over ice cream. Store in refrigerator. Have some for me!
