My 2nd Bag & Sphag - Wish Me Luck!
Comments (18)I've taken the Den keiki out of the baggie, placed it into a small clay pot with some bark, and left a couple of strands of moss loosely bunched at the root area... I've got the clay pot set in a clay saucer, and under that is a plastic saucer with a little water in it. The whole thing is sitting on a heating pad under grow lights. I hope this covers the light, warmth, and a bit of humidity. I'll watch it closely, and add water as needed. I really wish our greenhouse was up and operational right now... it will be a while before growth appears on the Coelogyne without that advantage! Everyone is seeing new growth on theirs already... everyone except me! The pbulb is quite wrinkled, but it's still green and the leaves are both still hanging in there! No sign of new growth yet, but I don't have the advantage that a greenhouse gives. I must say... this is all so exciting and suspenseful! Regardless of the outcome, I look at this as a wonderful opportunity to learn, and to hone my skill at growing! Now I'm wondering if I should do anything different with the Coelogyne? Should I move it into more light? Dare I put it into a clay pot with bark? Or am I just freaking out?!...See MoreYear-round lawn, no overseeding? Wish me luck!
Comments (13)Ripping out my lawn was the best thing I ever did. No more of this craziness spending time fertility, mowing and reseeding. Who would want your kids playing in grass that has so many chemicals in it anyways. You don't have to put the typical desert stuff to replace the lawn. You can put in nice shrubs, ground cover, trees , veggies. Get creative AZ....See Morechopped down my pepper trees - wish me luck
Comments (14)Wow Bruce, they really do take a licking don't they?...Thanks for the pics, that's what mine look like right now. They haven't put out new growth like yours has as yet but I expect that won't be far behind. The did drop their larger more mature leaves but kept their baby leaves. DH laughingly refers to them as my stick garden => I'm sure they'll pull through though, gave 'em a drink and they perked right up =) I cut down a smaller pot of peppers that had 3 plants together. Little twiglets that they were singly, together they had a dense head of foliage & peppers. In the interest of getting a grip on the aphids, I cut 'em back to stubs, leaving a leaf or 2 on each plant. I'll wait to see if this gets rid of 'em before I treat again....See MoreGlucose Tolerance test....wish me luck please
Comments (15)Well, the drink wasn't too bad. I had an upset stomach before we even started. If I don't eat within an hour of waking up, that happens. I had to pick up the orders at the dr's before hand. My appt was at 9:30, they finally took me back at 10. Finger stick said 118 at 10. Between 8 & 8:30 it was 101. They got blood first try every draw. I don't look to pretty, but I only felt one stick, so they were really good! I have to lay down and not see them do it or pass out. I took my knitting with me, so I didn't get bored. My GF came in about an hour before I was finished for an EEG. She has been having virtigo with headaches. We finished at the same time, so we went to lunch together. That was the best part! I should find out the results the 12th. If I have it, she'll send me to a nutritionist. Thanks for "being there" with me! It helped lots. Tami...See MoreVladimir (Zone 5b Massachusetts)
