Cedar-Apple Rust on new tree

I got a new dwarf apple tree this spring and planted. It's establishing nicely but has brown spots that I identified as CAR. I don't have any trees to spread it in my yard but understand the spores can travel quite far. My question is that since it's a brand new tree and not fruiting yet, do I care? My gut reaction is that next year it will be fine and I'll spray in the springtime and I should continue to work on establishing good roots at this point, not worrying about it.
