The first photo could be easily mistaken as untouched... except for the "white" pollen... I love that photo! Photoshop has some interesting effects... it's quite a cool program! I played with some hippi pictures the year before last, I believe it was... I made Sweet Lilian look like a painting, and I placed her under plastic wrap... cool stuff! Thanks, Kristi!

no no you do not clean anything with hijack this you must go to the landzdown forum that was listed and start a thread there in the hijackthis area then post your results from hijack this there in your post, also tell them everything you have done they will come and help you with step by step directions, the hijackthis produces a log file that is what you need to post there for them to review so they know what steps to take, the team there is one of the best on the net so be assured they will help you but it takes time it is not a one deal cure all it is a step by step proceedure. While it is true that the EPA RRP Rule does not apply to homeowners working on their own home, there are still the health problems associated with lead poisoning for you and your family. There is also the problem when you go to sell your home, one of the documents you have to fill out as a seller is a lead disclosure form. I'm not a Realtor but I've been told by many Realtors that it's very difficult to sell a home that has been renovated, repaired, or painted without following the EPA RRP Rule. Another option on the covering is to lathe and stucco the house. My own house had lead paint on two sides. It also had very little insulation so we opted to place 2" foam board on the house, lathe and stucco. The lead paint is behind all of that so will only present a problem if someone decides to add a window or door!

but the question was more about whether the area was suitable to proceed with just planting whatever I like after removing something that had previously been there ==>>> i thought i answered this .... but i will try again ... maybe i didnt ... its is extremely rare ... that there might be a situation... related to soil or disease issues.... where you should not replant in a given hole ... but.. imo.. its so rare.. i wouldnt even give it a second thought.. or more than a few seconds researching... before i went ahead and planted in the same hole ... e.g. ... there is a rare hosta virus ... and if you had a virused plant.. you would not want to dig it out.. and replant another hosta... because of the severed roots you left in the hole.. MIGHT infect the new plant ... but most of these RARE problems.. are plant specific ... so just about anything else could go in the hole with no future problems ... so.. again.. in this case.. since you have a personal hate for the hosta... and presumably they are not virused ... then ANYTHING CAN GO IN THE HOLE ... to sum up ... these problems are VERY RARE ... and usually plant of family specific ... so dont worry about it.. and just do whatever pleases you ... and if it doesnt work out.. try again ... ken ps: so i guess what i am saying is.. if you remove a healthy plant... you can simply reuse the hole ...
