Winter is coming...tomorrow!

Any Game of Thrones fans around? Tomorrow is long awaited in my household. There is a Houzz Story on Game of Thrones style interiors today. I have been trying to do a marathon GOT catch up the last month, but only got to season 4. Can't wait!

As far as I know, you should be just fine using their brands of perlite and moss. It just the potting soil that can be tough on plants unless you give it the right care, which I have never figured out so I like the fast draining mix's. Good luck with your new trees! I've been tempted to order more now but I would have to increase my light set up and I don't have the time/money for that at the moment.

I love to watch the squirrels in my yard especially since I have four cats that go out. ( I always follow this statement by saying my cats were all born outside and over time they adopted me and my husband. They are extremely well cared for, heated porch, heated beds, house privileges if they want and go to the vet. Mom cat is 15) Anyway, squirrels are amazingly bold. They will come within feet of a cat before taking off. I have never found a dead one. And I love to feed them feed corn in the winter and watch them scamper about with it.

I am at a spending freeze as I want Marie Curie & Tequila Supreme from northland but have to wait till I home all my bare roots (35+) to see what room I have left as I’m not breaking ground in the front till fall . Oh the drama of being an ambitious rosarian .

I liked seasons 1-4 the best. For some reason I don't enjoy the White Walkers storyline as much as the politics of Kings Landing.

Cannot wait. Am reading the books for the first time and watched the whole series on On Demand twice. So far.

Agree, white walkers are a bore. So make sure you have fire on hand and get more obsidian. Big deal.

Off to check out the interior story. Thanks sabbath7.

So excited! But I think the WWs are going to play a big role this season, unfortunately. What I would like to happen would be for Dany and Jon to get married, and Tyrion be the ultimate ruler of the 7 kingdoms. I just love Tyrion, and he seems to be the most level-headed. Jon is too good to be a ruler, making ruthless decisions.

Everyone in my house is waiting for tonight. Last year I was the only Game of Thrones fan in my house and they all would shake their heads when I made sure to be at the TV at 8:59pm to watch it in real time for fear something would happen that I'd miss and it would be spoiled minutes after on the internet. I finally talked them into just trying out season 1 and season 2 and I wouldn't bother them again about it. They both got hooked and ended up watching the whole series with in a week lol!

I laughed when I said I told you so! So today we will be rewatching the last season together in anticipation for tonight just to reacquaint ourselves with what happened last year since it has be sooooo LONG!

I have also read all of the books. We are past where the books left off and during earlier seasons I was very surprised to see that some of the story lines were much different in the book than the show. My husband who used to watch it with me would get so mad at me because where I had read the books I would tense up at certain scenes so he knew something was about to happen (Red Wedding) then after I would blurt that's not what happened in the book! lol.

Aprile- what was your favorite episode?

Another fan here. I read that there will be only one more season after this one. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

The countdown is on! Pizza is in the oven. Chips, salsa and ice cream are at the ready. Winter is almost here!

    We're watching it now......

I bought chips and dip too. Good episode.

And for the entire hour it was on, there was a lightning storm going on outside (we used to call it "heat lightning"). I can see out the window while sitting in the recliner watching TV. Even the cat on my lap was intrigued by the light show.

Lightning storm...that's awesome! My favorite part was winter came to House Fray!

I only started watching it this Winter. Read all the books. Wish the author would finish the last book already! I'm listening to the books in my car to and from work now. I'm only on book 1 there. For the past few weeks I've been rewatching the whole series. I'm on season 6 now. I don't have cable so I can't watch the new show...not for a while. Can't wait to start though.

Hey Kaths- my son has read all the books too. Maybe I should too. I really enjoyed season 4 and 6 was good too. Let's hope this season is amazing! I have had to watch the show 3 times before I really understood who was related to who, it's kinda confusing.

I just watched Dragonstone and it was AWESOME! It went so fast that I can't believe it was already done! :( Such fine acting from everybody! Love the Hound as always! Jaime was really smart in his strategic thinking. John Snow did the right thing but I feel that John should have talked it over with her before the meeting to avoid displaying their disagreements publicly.

Sabbath, the books are really good. Frustrating that some of the storyline is different, though.

Aprile- what was your favorite episode?

Sabbath- So many episodes are favorites for me. But the really favorites were:

-When Viserys got his golden crown

-Daenerys came out of the fire with the dragons on her shoulders

-As awful as it was the Red Wedding for just the sheer shock value alone

-Joffery getting his at his wedding

-Daenerys taking out all the Khals in the fire

-Ramsey Bolten finally getting what he deserved

-Watching Arya and Tyrion I love them both.

I also advise reading the books even if you have watched the show. The books tie so much more together and it actually has different story lines for the stories we were watching on TV. They strayed quite a bit from some of the major book story lines in the TV show enough so I don't think anyone would be bored reading them even after watching the show.

I got my friend who watches the show to read the books. She was actually mad that the book didn't follow the show lol. I had to remind her over and over the book is the original story that the show was based off and it is the show that wasn't following the story lines not the book.

I must be the only person left on earth that has not seen this show. Is it only on Hulu?

Really enjoyed the show. Why weren't there people on Dragonstone? Love Arya's Frey family get together. Wish they had suffered longer.

Not sure which episodes were favorites, Ramsey's end was definitely up there.

Now is Jon Snow going to be able to ask nicely for some of Dany's nice dragon glass? Betting no way.

Loved the comical montage of Sam!! Made everyone in my family laugh.

Fascinating show that shows the darkest aspects of humanity. I wish they wouldn't go so far. It could still be good without it. We don't want to become the ancient Romans taking pleasure in the pain of humanity.

Idk it's seems mostly made up. Except for the White Walkers that were in London the other day- hahaha it seems very fantasy almost science fiction with heavy politics. That's just my opinion.

I know Stannis and army went to war and were pretty near wiped out but did every last scullery maid go? Seems unlikely. Suspect support staff had to far outnumber fighters but everybody? You'd think kings would hate coming home to squatters in the solars!

I wondered why there was no one on Dragonstone as well.

I don't think Stanis had a full, well-staffed castle, he had very little money and had to go borrow from the bank remember just to have enough to take care of his little army. I don't think they had all those other staff members to run the castle. His daughter didn't have someone looking after her, remember her running off to the dungeon to teach the onion knight how to read. If she had a maid or her own septa or whatever, she wouldn't have been able to do that I don't think.

That's very interesting Kathsgrdn! All very true!

Did anyone else identify the prisoner who reached out his arm to grab Sam, at the very end? I had to watch it twice to finally realize who it was. I won't post a spoiler in case some haven't watched it yet, but perhaps most have seen the episode by now.

Schoolhouse, I think I know but not sure how he got there?

Sabbath, sorry I didn't mean to ignore your question about favorite episodes and characters. Clearly from the comments above I'm going to have to watch the whole series sometime soon! I'm not familiar with all the characters and episodes. I'm not even sure what season I started watching.

I know who it is and I am pretty sure I know why he is there. That is the place of healers and he is also very contagious hence the reason they would keep him isolated in a cell :)

Is it the guy that khalesee banished?

    last modified: 9 years ago

Not banished really, I thinks she let him leave to find himself a cure? I can not think of his name, heck I have a difficult time remembering all the characters' names. I probably should Google.
