From yesterday's hike

We've had a wet spring, and I've heard from more than one person that the strawberries were rotting on the vine, or rotted overnight when they brought them home.

I've been buying lots of frozen fruit, and when frozen strawberries are on sale, it's cheaper and easier on our backs than picking, to make freezer jam.

Oh yum. I need to go to the farm store. One of my neighbors has been providing me with bags of tomatoes from his garden but I am out. We got a lot of rain last night so hopefully it will kick the plants into production.

Friend said they are heirloom tomatoes.

Yes I could tell some are definitely heirloom tomatoes. My favorites! But they are so expensive.

Beautiful shot of a butterfly. Most of those do not stay still long enough to get a good shot. If my memory serves me correctly, that's a Tiger Swallow Tail. Sadly, those a are scarce in my location, and have become less seen in my boyhood location. Back in my high school days, I had had one of those in my lepidoptera collection for science project.
