No such thing as too much cfm, unless you're having an issue with your make-up air.

Rule of thumb, a more powerful hood running at a lower speed works better than a less powerful hood working at top speed, even if the cfm are the same. If you do a search, kaseki explained why.

Can't you ask the seller what comes with the Bertazoni?

I put your number in the AJMadison website and got this:

I would assume it comes with an electrical cord and lightbulbs. What else do you need?Mounting brackets? I'm guessing because it's an insert, those come too, but the installer or carpenter should be able to figure it out if not.

Oh! Definitions--liner is the housing. The metal box that holds the filters, lights, etc. The blower is the motor and fan assembly. Those are sometimes sold separately as people like to go truly custom.

Which is a long stream of conciousness way of saying that yes, it does look like you get the whole shebang, but you should check with the seller anyway.

The important thing is to make sure that the duct opening and your duct are in the same place and are the same size, or similar enough to make work.

It is desirable that the hood's rated CFM be equivalent to about 135 CFM per square foot of hood aperture, given adequate MUA. This is required to have good containment given pressure losses. If the hood doesn't overlap the range adequately, a little more CFM may help reduce escaped (not captured) cooking plumes, but this effect will be modest.

Larger CFM capability blowers generally have larger fan diameters, and running them at reduced flow rates will reduce turbulence noise. Somewhere I read recently that the noise goes as the eighth power of air velocity (or blade tip velocity at the blower), so running at 2/3 full power can be quite quiet for decent blower designs. [N.B. This eighth-power factoid is not confirmed.]

Our hoods are 940 CFM, and even though they're among the quietest on the market, most people end up using them at the 1st or 2nd speed (out of 4), since generally you don't need ~1000 CFM unless you're the 2nd coming of Emeril Lagasse and you can actually manage 4 or 5 things happening on the stove at the same time.

@kaseki: it's pretty hard to nail down specific noise levels for blowers to begin with, since even the lab test conditions & measurement methods can vary (how many people actually understand the difference between dB and dB(A)?...) - not to mention that once the blower is in the hood, even more factors come into play:

Shape of blower chamber
Shape of hood body
Filter type
If baffle filters - baffle profile
If mesh filters - mesh density & layers
Ductwork

...and so on. Thus, blower sound measurements should be taken with a grain of salt, or better yet, a whole shaker.
