hey pattyk - I told you, I am waiting for you to make all the decisions, so I can just sit back and copy you!! LOL.... just kidding :) Well, our kitchen is at a standstill right now. Searching like crazy to pick the backsplash (btw, ever since you posted your DH's idea to tile to the ceiling, I have found soooo many pics that do that!! It's only been around like a window wall though, not above the cabinets, it doesn't look weird at all) and today I will venture out and pick some new paint chips to try. I have a running list of colors I see posted on GW. However, my slab of "our" granite has heavy gray tones, so I can't go with the browns I was in love with :( The other thing I am waiting on is a window treatment, but DH has a client that does that at home window treatment shopping thing and he really wants to come do ours. I am inclined to let him because what I had in mind just doesn't seem like it will work. What is the tile you are using? Do you know what pattern you will do it in? Any accents or just one color? I am bookmarking like crazy and confusing the heck out of myself...haha. elle3 - I thought that was the one, it was talked about alot on the kitchen forum and it also gets referred too alot. Dear sis2two, Thanks for the update. (I was actually just wondering how your project was going last night as I tested a sample of F & B String in my dining room.) We all look forward to seeing your kitchen cabinet transformation.

Thanks for all your input! To clarify when I said darker I meant darker than white, Bruxton white BM is darker than White Dove, its the darker shade I painted on back splash as sample. The color for the island is not blue, bad photo. Paint swatch is KendalL Charcoal HC-166, Amherst Gray HC-167 and Chelsea Gray-HC-168. I am currently leaning toward BM Stone Harbor 2111-50 or Gray Huskie AC-26 for perimeter cabinets, light subway backsplash and dark gray of one listed on island. Agree , no gray floor, Jacobean or walnut I need weight in room, as cabinets surround entire kitchen. I attached some inspiration photos. Not concerned about trendy as long as I am happy, its paint. Here is current kitchen status post rib fest mess, and paint swatches everywhere. It is basically a U shape open to family room. Obviously all walls are being repainted and light fixtures will get changed out.

I need help quickly! I can’t decide what color to paint the few walls there are in my kitchen. Because it’s my own, it is torturing me. We’re updating the entire kitchen. 1. Replacing all of the cabinets – white (BM Silver Satin). 2. Backsplash dark grey with gold undertones. 3. Floor – Italian tile with an old-world muted pattern of blue, beige, white, gold, brown, grey. 4. Countertops – Medium gray solid color quartz. 5. Island – white with grey horizontal stripes (White Maucumbus quartzite) 6. The island is BM Buckland Blue – it is 109” x 54” I removed the breakfast nook table and plan to use the island for seating. 7. Gold hardware for cabinets and gold and black faucet. 8. Island pendants will be black barrel shades with gold inside. Adjoining rooms: Family room – light grey (Glidden color Universal Grey). FR & DR Floors – will be stained brownish grey. Dining room - Dark blue, (BM Van Deusen Blue) Painted trim throughout (BM Distant Gray) My original plan was to paint the walls gold. For instance, BM Marigold. Then I saw Benjamin Moore’s Beau Green, 2054-20, it is beautiful! It looks great next to the navy blue in the dining room. I am afraid though; the very deep green may make the wet bar area feel like a cave. I wanted something to pop with the predominate white/gray combinations. I am attaching photos of the walls that will be painted. There are 3, kitchen into the DR, arched partial wall looking into the FR, and a short wall with a window and sliding glass door.
