What is going on with this velvet on my settee?
Comments (22)Here's a review from the link below- maybe you could contact them and inquire? RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL DANCE DIRECTOR PUTS MICROSEAL THRU THOROUGH AND BRUTAL TESTING My name is Susan Von R. IâÂÂm a performer and director of Court Dance and a seamstress for Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie, Texas. Website IâÂÂve spent 30 years recreating 16th century clothing for myself, fellow renaissance festival cast members, museums and a member of the REAL royal court of Spain, The Infanta Cristina, 1st Duchess of Palma de Mallorca (Cristina Federica Victoria Antonia de la SantÃÂsima Trinidad de Borbón y de Grecia). Every year millions of people all across the country attend and perform at renaissance festivals wearing recreations of period 16th century clothing. These festivals require cast members to wear heavy, ground length gowns often costing thousands of dollars. These clothing recreations (costumes) must be worn at least 10 hours a day in all kinds of inclement weather from snow and rain to 105 degrees heat in the blazing Texas summer sun. These extreme weather conditions are very heard on expensive velvets, brocades and are ruinous to fine silks, satins and chiffons. Fabric protection is an invaluable tool in the longevity of these pricey fabric art forms. I spent years looking and testing fabric treatments that would: Increase fabric natural strength, minimize staining from rain or ANY liquids, some sort of protection/ANY kind of protection from fading due to sun (a Sun Inhibitor). Comments (9)I love my Crypton upholstery. I chose this one from Greenhouse Fabrics. I think Crypton comes in many different blends of material from many different manufacturers. You would never know mine is high performance; it feels like a nice rayon/cotton blend, with a great, soft feel. I've spilled a whole glass of red wine and my grandson got chocolate on it - and even though it's very light colored, it cleaned up with a damp cloth and some dish soap. Not a trace of a stain from either. I think different blends have different cleaning requirements, so I'd for sure look for one that cleans with water and not solvent. And this one is made in the USA. https://www.greenhousefabrics.com/fabric/b5605-parchment...See MoreFamily friendly Loft needs help.
Comments (42)I don't think TV should take up the longest wall in a space while seating gets squeezed into shorter ones. Swivel bases are made to adjust TV for everyone in the room. There's always the option putting TV on the window wall, though and floating the sofa facing it with the lounger right or left of it. This is one of those "push & shove" spaces where you just have to try all the possible arrangements before you do anything permanent....See MoreQuestions about Family Friendly Design?
Comments (13)If you are going to give this a title then show a room that would actually be family friendly. We 3 very rowdy boys but they did not take over the house they had rooms to play in when they were a bit older and as toddlers my Dad built the most amazing toy box/ bench the kids played in the LR until supper time then this bench had 3 boxes on wheels under it the kids pulled the boxes out loaded up all the toys and put them back. I have to say I hate going into a home for a nice dinner party of adults and the whole space is full of toys. Kids need to learn to clean up after themselves from the start. As for furniture IMO nothing beats good leather to withstand all kinds od things. MY MIL used to say our house looked like no one lived there I am sure it was not meant as a compliment but I would always say thank you, I am a minimalist and that will never change. I love tthat kids can now be heard but they still do not have to take over the house. All these huge plastic slides, kitchens belong in a bedroom and not bought until they are old enough to play in their room . If you have a play room I agree it needs to be close to the family and at the end of the day all the stuff gets put back where it belongs.Kids do not need every toy they own out and we used put 1/2 the BD or Christmas presents away and exchange during the year for the ones they had been having out it worked really well....See Moreartemis_ma
