Latex Mattress -- Is 'Sag' or Indent Normal?
Comments (5)If there is any padding on top of the latex (pillowtop or quilted batting) they can't warranty that it won't sag because polyurethane does eventually lose it's loft. (If you've ever made a pillow out of batting, you know that eventually it loses some of it's loft/fluff.) We have a fairly new latex mattress (had a coil mattress before) and this new one does have a small amount of padding on one side but it seems fine. It is definitely the most comfortable mattress we've ever owned. DH and I really look forward to laying down on it each night. As roses4me said above, they are heavy though. You will need someone to help you turn or flip it. The store where we bought it keeps a large square of latex underneath the bed post and they pull it out to show customers how latex will not sag or indent after having all of that concentrated weight on it. It's truly amazing stuff. There was no stinky chemical smell in our mattress either....See MoreLatex Mattress Advice
Comments (21)Actually, the 'green' aspects are lovely, but I'm most anxious to find a comfortable mattress that doesn't sag after a month or two, as has been the case with our last two innersprings. Each ran almost $3K, for a pair of XL Twins that we use as a King. We have had a pair of two-sided mattresses since our marriage over fifty years ago. We've been able to flip them ourselves, without hiring a strongman. Now we are getting too old for any flipping, but would like to have the option to buy separately controlled adjustable frames in the future. I presume you can 'fold' latex without damaging the mattress? Olychic -- Thanks for reminding me of how long your latex mattress has served you. (Please hire someone to flip it before *it* outasts *you*.) From what I've read, I think a layered latex might work for us -- 'impure' on the bottom; 'pure-er' on the top layer. Seems there is no more 100% talalay anyway. I wonder how these mattresses fell out of favor, or why they are making such a comeback. They are less expensive than most innersprings. A labor thing?...See MoreLatex Mattress Hunt

Comments (11)I just wanted to report on Zenhaven customer service. I bought this mattress for a guest room and when I set it all up, it seemed smaller than a standard queen. I finally measured it just to set my mind at ease that I was wrong, but sure enough, the mattress instead of measuring 60 x80 measures about 57 x 78! Maybe 57.5”. I just called them and told them, asked if it was standard that their mattresses are smaller, if so I was going to return it. Very nice woman apologized, said their products are handmade and this one should not have made it through quality control; they will put in an order for a new one to be delivered and assured me it will be 60 x 80. Will report if that’s true. Wondering if you’re still sleeping well on yours Beagles?...See MorePam In Tampa
