Front door color recommendations
Comments (1)I really do like the white door with the white screen (or storm) door -- the two doors look VERY nice together and visually cohesive with the white frame and sidelights. Add color by clearing out the gardens and adding seasonal flowers and plants. Perhaps consider switching to larger pewter or silver lanterns outdoors. Add a long white bench to the left of the front door with brightly colored cushions....See Moreif I paint my exterior sea foam, what color should the shutters be?

Comments (18)BenT, I saw her rose on HMF, I'm sure. Some great rose growers live in Livermore. Cori Ann lived there and grew wonderful roses. I was wrong on the Austin metal charms that came with their roses. i looked in my albums of tags and other stuff and found that Meilland Romantica roses came with cute metal tags at one time. I could have sworn Austin did that, too. Off topic, of course. How are you liking California? Didn't you live there before at one time? I lived in San Jose for several years while going to college; then moved to Redondo Beach; then later to Palo Alto for grad school. San Jose had a great rose growing climate, and I lived in an older urban area of town. The big old houses had some wonderful gardens. Of course, I didn't garden a bit then. I have to say that our climate is just like that, and big California sized roses are easily possible here. We just have a short intense growing season which I wish was a lot longer. I don't think I'd grow roses if I had to fight rose fungal diseases, or awful pests like rose midge. By the way, I was looking at some photos in HMF of lavender and purple roses I no longer grow, and I saw your gorgeous Heirloom rose totally covered in blooms. That must have been hard to leave behind--or did you? Heirloom and several others hated our very dry heat as far as their blooms were concerned. The plants did fine, though. Comments (9)the colors in your first pic look very blue. I think you mean Pearl Gray. These two, right? wondering why you picked these colors when you have very warm, yellow tone stonework and reddish brown roof and wood trim? Since you have so much going on around the garage (the stone, the siding, the shake siding) I'd prob try painting it the same as the trim here is the pearl gray w/a white door Ignore this color. just look at the addition of windows on the top portion of the garage door. you might want to add that panel. I don't suppose you're interested in toning down the stone, are you?...See MorePipdog
