Help: Have American prescription for Canadian Drug
Comments (5)I don't know the answer to how you get the prescription, but as for your question about insurance; the question is not "will the Canadian pharmacy accept my insurance?". The question is "will my insurance company pay for treatment obtained outside the United States?", and "will my insurance company pay for non-FDA-approved medication?". Insurance companies choose what and who they will pay for, not the other way around. Ask your insurance company. Some policies cover international care if necessary, some don't. My guess is they will not cover non-FDA approved medication, regardless of what country you purchase it in....See MoreEye Prescription CYL Help Please!
Comments (14)I probably should go to a new doc - but this one is known as the best around by everyone I have asked. I originally purchased glasses from them and couldn't use them. They were way too strong! But they assured me I was wrong and just needed to get used to them. I gave it two weeks and went back. No way could I live with those glasses. So, they reluctantly dialed them down a bit - but I still hate them. I have some very old glasses that I love as far as the strength goes. If they do not make me see 20/20 - I don't care. I can see just fine with them and I am happy wearing them, but I don't know what that prescription was. So, I played with the numbers from my current scrip and ordered glasses from Zenni on-line. $20.00 and there are âÂÂalmostâ perfect. Still a bit too strong, but very close, so I am going to order another pair. At this price, it is worth it to me. Kudzu9 - thank you for that link - it was very helpful. :-) Zenni is Great BTW. If any of you want quality glasses at a great price, you should check them out. You can even upload a picture of your face to try the different glasses on. How cool is that?...See MoreIdea for Empty Prescription Bottles?
Comments (33)I love the idea of melting stuff in the oven to make wind chimes or garden art. Yes, any fumes would be dangerous, but that is what open windows and fans are for. I will just arrange everything in the oven, open the windows and put a large fan in a window taking all the fumes out. Then while it is baking, I'll work in the garden outside. When the time is up, just turn off the oven, leave the oven door open but take my "art" outside to cool. Keeping the fans on all the while. After an hour I am sure the fumes will be pulled out. What a fun, inexpensive idea. I'll probably add some of those glass stones. To make sure nothing explodes, I'll put some lid or cover over the glass, tho. Let us know if anyone does this. I cannot do photos but I would love to see your photos....See Moreprescription meds
Comments (74)I remember: Vit C is a cure-all...no, Vit E is it...no, B vitamins do it... beta carotene is it...no, Vit D is it... margarine is good...no, butter is good...whole grains are great...no, whole grains are evil...eliminate fat...no, eliminate *bad* fat...no, eliminate carbs...no, eliminate *bad* carbs...drink red wine...don't drink red wine...eat chocolate...no only eat dark chocolate. It's enough to make one's head spin. I'm at the stage where I'm leery of any of the new "wonder" natural products just as I'm leery of the "wonder" drugs. Perhaps more so as the drugs do have to go through more testing and analysis than the natural products do. And drugs are tested to see that they actually contain what they say they do, unlike so many natural products. Even if the studies done are modest in their conclusions, the internet/media hype around them certainly are not. (Do some diligence to see if the study being hyped has been done on more than a handful of people, for longer than a week, or even if it's been done on people at all, and check to see who sponsored the study and when the study was done.) For every positive report, there seems to be a "myth buster". The latest one I've heard is that the truism that breakfast is the most important meal of the day (brought to you by the breakfast foods industry) may not be so true after all. Even well done studies can disagree...that's why repeatability is so essential in creating good scientific conclusions. (Anyone remember cold fusion?) My take is, it's nice to have another fat option in coconut oil to enjoy, esp one that tolerates high heat for cooking. But don't expect it to equal the hype. If it seems to help you personally, then go ahead and have some. But individual differences (genetic, epigenetic, microbiome, etc.) are such that it's unlikely to be a cure for all, maybe harmful for some, and most likely benign to most. What isn't benign is overall fat/carb/protein intake, calorie intake, weight management and exercise levels. There is more than enough evidence to show that cutting calories lowers weight, that lowering weight reduces a number of health risks, and that exercising is good for your health....See Morealways1stepbehind
