Comments (12)Talk about the urge to kill.......... I was gone for two days and when I came home I found a big stray cat had decided to make a bed in my WS containers. It was a flat with eight pots in it and a plastic cover over it. It had plant markers but he had just wiggled them over and made himself a bed. I guess the sun had warmed the warm soil but the plastic kept him dry. I hate it when people drop off pets. Obviously he was accustomed to having a basket or bed of his own, so he didn't mind that it was on a shelf three feet off the ground. We live a few miles out of town and people get tired of their animals and just drop them off. This is the 2nd new cat in the last couple of weeks....See MoreEarth Angel Question.

Comments (7)Jane- Diatomite is a diatomatious earth but the non salt form used for orchids is not toxic. The only concern I would have is that it retains about 150% of its weight in water which might be too damp for plumies, Since it is high in silica it is related to sand which also can pack too tightly, but the horticultural form is more small rock so it is more closely related to granular perlite. I did list a link that sells pumice and perlite on the post about "pumice rock/stone" about 6 posts below this. Bill...See MoreEarth Angel vs. Northern Exposure
Comments (13)That eye has been stable about 4 years. I have guardian angel. It's center starts out white and turns green later in the season. This one remains green from begging to end. i think I will divide it to see if direct sun turns it yellow. Then it would be like beckoning. ...Oh well. I've done that a number of times. Recreated ones that already exist. it was totally streaked but the seed is not viable. So I stopped trying after 10 years...See MoreBenT (NorCal 9B Sunset 14)
