Elmira Stove Works also makes similarly old-fashioned looking stoves with radiant electric cooktops and electric convection ovens, but they are really pricey and, IIRC, 45" wide rather than 40 inches. Not what Mommycat was looking for, I suspect. Mommycat: Frigidaire does indeed make the Kenmore version for Sears and, AFAK, it is pretty much the same stove. A couple of years ago, a friend of mine looked Into getting one (a Kenmore, as I recall) to replace her vintage 1959 GE 40" range but then found that our local appliance repair service could get the parts to fix her vintage unit for a lot less than the cost of a new range. (If memory serves, she needed a new control unit for the ovens.) I think this Frigidaire model has been around for at least a decade if not more. I recall reading some pretty positive Gardenweb discussions of both the Fridgidaire and Kenmore versions of the dual fuel and all-electric 40" ranges back around 2002 to 2004, I also recall a couple of fairly recent discusions on both vintage and new 40 inch stoves. However, I am having no luck with finding any of those old discussions. Sorry.

The number form is pugga and sable. Lynxe, I also have some weak taste/smell associations, and one of them is cooked sliced carrots but I can't remember the full association. It is specifically carrots sliced coin style, because they taste slightly different than cooked carrots cut into sticks. Of the people who have the person-color-smell associations, do you have trouble sometimes remembering their face or recalling their name (at the wrong moment)? Apparently, synesthetics will imprint (My term for lack of a technical one) Other information rather than the obvious face or name information. So you may associate the person with a certain smell, color or characteristic that supersedes remembering their name. I REALLY have trouble with some people's faces or names and part of it is the synesthesia, but part of it is also that I remember a lot of faces in general, the problem is remembering whether I Actually Know them or not. My significant other, on the other hand, who does not seem to be synesthetic in the least has a photographic memory for people's faces, names and a short biography. Someone who is an actual stranger but lives in our city may be recognized walking down the other side of the street or going by in a cab in New York--conversely has a terrible time with math, remembering numbers, and has gone to the completely wrong address for places we have been or even stayed over and over.

I know that this is an old forum but just for your information I ordered Ultracraft (a Norcraft company)cabinets based on the recommendation of my contractor. The finish on the cabinets is horrible and does not match the sample I was shown. The sales Representative Darrell. from Ultracraft has a very condescending attitude and told me the doors would darken. That was his attitude and he ignored the fact that the finish was wrong and I have bare wood on some of the doors, doors that are sized wrong etc. I paid for semicustom cabinets and got all stock cabinets. They advertise tolerances to 1/16th of an inch but the dealer says they only have to be within 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch. Darrell(Ultracraft) took my sample door and said it was within tolerance at the factory but when a piece of the door was sent back for comparison it magically matched what was installed in my kitchen I think he means that anything goes as long as they have been paid. The dealer Canyon Kitchen and Bath has a picture of the original door but refuses to show it to my contractor or me. Does that raise suspicions with anyone else? I would suggested anyone stay away from Norcraft (district manager Andrew) and their other companies like Ultracraft. They are all now owned by Fortune brands and fall under Mastercraft cabinets. I have contacted Ultracraft and their response is they were told it was taken care of. Really? Stay away from Desert Kitchen and Bath as well. The installer admitted to me that it was all wrong but no one will listen to me because I am just one person. I was offered $1000 and I wondered how I was supposed to fix their mistake on $42,000 dollars of cabinets. Now my only recourse is to let other people know that the dealer and the manufacturer is less than honest so others on this forum don't fall into the same trap I did. If they are smart they will fix this problem because the internet can be postitive or negative for a companies reputation. Especially on these types of forums. A.R. Fazio, La Quinta, Ca.

Our flooring was installed by whomever the builder used for installation. I have a couple of minor scratches, but they were likely caused by something my 5 year old daughter dragged. We have Gemcore Onyx Huntington. We did the same - felt pads under all furniture and chairs. It’s very hard to tell when there is a scratch due to the texture. We do have some buckling and I’m 100% convinced it’s either installation error or a result of the new construction house settling. The buckling is isolated in areas and doesn’t seem to have processed over almost a full year. They’re coming out to assess Wednesday. We do love the floors and have them all throughout the house. They are low maintenance and super easy to clean. It’s a bit deceiving because you can’t tell where dirt is unless it’s a very light piece of something, like paper.
