This is the SIlver Dollar Jade (C. Arboresens) you talked about, right? (With sunburned Crassula ovata Hobbit behind it) Also, while I browse my old picture, I think I actually have the wavy leaf (Blue Bird) version of C. Arborescens? I have attached a picture from last summer, you can see the younger C. Arborenscens with wavy leaf. (Top of the three) And the younger C.Arborenscens (Silver Dollar Tree - right bottom one) in the picture too. Wish any of you can share a matured C. Arborescens 'Blue Bird' to see if it keeps the wavy leaves when it grows up. :)

JoJo I don't know you yet, but want to help, you can ask Pirate Girl about my credentials, I know this plant well, yes remove the old stuff, and stop misting, water it thoroughly then leave it alone, I hardly water mine in the hot summers, and they flower for me this time of the year. They are winter growers and if you cut them back in October and don't water until then, give them a little fertilizer they will flower for you for Christmas, I have on opening pink right now.I abuse mine all summer, July 15-Oct 15. they can take temps down to 20F/ the grow in Africa on rocky hillsides in the Eastern side of the cape so they really don't like much water and it can actually harm them. Pirate Girl know what I'm talking about, she lives in the East. I live on sthe West Coast and ;; have 25 counting the species that you have. Yours is 'Silver Dollar' and I know the latin name but would need to look up the spelling. The barks are all different which to me is the interesting part of the plant. and helps ID which one it is, the leaves are different sizes and colors. Take a cutting and restart but let it dry out first to seal over, this is a perfect time to do so. Norma

During summer and depending on how you sun it The prior cut ( with the longer nub ) will probably harden off during summer and decrease the chances of newer growth. If me I'd let the bottom growth stay on and all the single leaf growth as long as possible. In a sense to say allow the smaller new growth to continue growing to help fill in the sling shot look. Also If your handy with wiring wait until the bring in time (fall) and wire the older growth in the more desired shape you want Tip : I water first wait two days then wire for easier bending of thicker branches. Tip two : At this time of the year older tired leaf drop and drying is normal inside in your zone I tend to thumb the discolored dry wrinkled foliage off as soon as possible but I also let older discolored foliage hang on as long as possible.. IMO ( if not already ) place in a nice south window, mid window if wide or mid window section if not A. few inches away from window ( 8-12 inches) for a while until it can be bought out. If you bring outside for summer use a slower transition to help new growth to grow . If climate is like late spring though summer last season don't be afraid to yank it back from outside or move it to a late day sun if things become to warm and dry. Uncertain of your indoor lighting but lighting could/ should also be used to enhance the indoor growing. Thank you everyone! I will take it out tonight , I'm thinking proportionally less potting mix this time. Do I need to leave the roots out for a few days before repotting? I admit I've put them straight into a fresh mix previously. And then hold off watering for 1-2 weeks? Would you still recommend removing the black leaves if I add that they feel firm and healthy (despite their unhealthy appearance!)? I've just noticed that the poorly coloured squishy ones (most of the leaves on the plant) also look more swollen than the bright green/red ones... definitely over watering / lack of soil drainage.
