Medillion cabinets quality.

we are going to remodel a kitchen. Our kitchen designer recommand medallion silverline products. We found mix reviews for medalition, either very bad or very good. Since they have 4 different levels of products (platinum, gold, designer and silver) I'm not sure the good reviews are from higher end cabinets only or not. Any one use medallion recently? and which product level you are using? Thanks for any input.

Pick Gold or higher. The cheap self knockoff that all these lines are doing these days dilutes their perceived and actual quality levels down and will not be beneficial long term.

Keep researching what they are suggesting for you. I believe any kitchen should have at least plywood boxes if you want them to last a long time. Pay attention to the materials, the functioning hardware, and the finishes. Most dealer bought cabinets are particle board boxes or plywood boxes with solid wood faceframes with doors that overlay (sit on top of the frame). Upgrade your hardware to the soft-close types, and upgrade your drawer boxes to solid wood with dovetail joinery. Another key to any long lasting kitchen is to hire a very good carpenter to install the cabinets for you. I can't stress this one enough! There's a lot of information out there to confuse anyone, but these tips are about as simple as I can take it. Good luck!

I have read reports of the mirror glass blackening around the edges of med cabs, too. The solution is to only use water and a microfiber cloth when cleaning them. Never use glass cleaner, most of all! I found a space where a med cab used to be in our half bath, behind the wall mirror. It turns out that there is a wall safe made to fit there, too. I got one and my carpenter made a frame around the back side of the mirror, onto which he put a piano hinge. Since it is near the corner of the room, you cannot see behind to see the hinge and the mirror is only about a half inch off the wall, so it is not too noticeable. My friend with the drug habit has not found it, as far as I know, and the safe is working to hold interesting medications and our cash.

Getting quality skill sets is now a worldwide problem, so the seller is not wrong. I also agree that you know what you are doing on case construction and can do a better job. I know i can as well, and in fact would never buy cabinets because i can build better ones than whatever is available to buy. And while i dont know you, I think you are more than capable of making your own fronts. i bought a cabinet door router bit set for $100 and it quickly paid for itself. I did have the half inch router though… with the right router bit set, I think the casework is harder to make than the fronts. The way the buts are machined the panels and styles fit themselves together. Can you take back your cabinets, keep the money and make your own cheaper and better? I really think most home woodworkers can make their own cabinet fronts and casework; they just need encouragement and confidence. You got this!

I got all Emtek Select in brushed brass for my remodel, which includes kitchen, 4 baths, a wet bar in the lower level, and all interior and exterior door hardware. I haven't moved in yet, but most of the Emtek items have been installed and I love the quality. I ordered a number of sample pulls from different manufacturers and liked Emtek Select the best. I like that the appliance pulls are nice and wide in diameter compared with many others I looked at, and the cabinet pulls are wider / more substantial than some other brands I looked at as well. I considered getting a less expensive brand for the interior door hardware, but I'm glad I went with Emtek because the levers are really nice and the color is a nice soft brass, not too orangey.

Are Liberty kitchen cabinets from Diamond good quality?

I’m working with Sincere Home Decor in Santa Clara and they recommended the Liberty semi-custom kitchen cabinets from Diamond, which is owned by MasterBrand. I have a big kitchen and this will cost a pretty penny, so I hope someone can offer insight from their personal experiences. I’m getting maple frame with MDF panel shaker style with overlay doors.
