Get them out of full sun and don't water too much. They will grow without any direct sun and keeping them in sun will dry them out. If either has a chance, a bright window will do the trick without any direct sun. After they show new growth then you can put them back in direct sun. If you lose them I have hundreds and will make a trade or send for shipping. Since temps are now around freezing it will have to wait til spring though.

Certainly not here to dispute the name of the Lowes plant. I bought a couple of the same plants, chuckling to myself that ALL of the aloes were labeled Aloe vera. Mine are PIG, growing well and curiously have lost their spots. You can see some of the spots remain on the bottom, oldest leaves. So I'm pondering the label again. Of course it hasn't flowered yet (about 3 years old), which will add to the info. I guess I wonder if Aloe vera pups start with spots. I have no pups to compare. 'Or whatever they have renamed it' is going to be my go-to answer for all the plants in both the Asclepiadaceae and the Liliaceae.

the one in the first picture is rotting. If you're not quick, the rot will spread to the rest of the plant pretty fast. Its usually from over watering. I would take the whole plant out of the soil, check the roots for rot, cut all the rot out with a sterile knife or scissors and let the wounds callus over for about a week. Then repot in fresh soil. After you do that, refrain from watering for at least a week. When you do start watering, only water when soil is completely dry. Aloes are hardy and as long as the rot is gone and its watered less it'll be fine. I had an aloe I didn't water for 2 years once and it was fine, they just go dormant. Much easier to kill one from overwatering than underwatering. Good luck!
