That's just terrible. What's wrong with people? Somewhere along the way did parents stop teaching their children to clean up after themselves? Moni, I'm glad you drew some attention to the mess left behind by people who ought to know better! Our county has long allowed the use of the courthouse basement as a public storm shelter when there is a tornado warning. A couple of years ago, the county commissioners decided to stop the practice because people were leaving trash behind (and lots of it) in the basement of the courthouse. After a public outcry, they reversed their decision but reserved the right to stop allowing its use if people continued to leave a big mess behind them when they left the basement. I haven't heard how that's working out since we live out in the country and have our own shelter, but find it ridiculous that people cannot clean up after themselves. Also, when we are headed to the tornado shelter, grabbing snacks and drinks to carry with us is not exactly what is on my mind at the moment.

Thank you EVERYONE! I had a great birthday. Lots of fun with the colored hair at work. Yes, gazania Moni, yes, love the purple hair...but is that in reference to the book "When I am Old, I Shall Wear Purple"? C'mon now, you will never convince anyone that you are "old". Hope your birthday was top notch! It sort of was. I was looking for something purple to wear at my party on Saturday, when I ran across the lady with the purple hair. I just thought it would be a HOOT, and it was so far. Lori and Doug and the kids won't be here now till tomorrow, and I can't wait to see their reaction. LOL My other daughter, Ulrike came yesterday to pick me up for Supper out. She said, nice wig mom... LOL, and I replied, are you sure it is a wig... Later on the way home from Supper, while at a stop sign, she looked right.... and there I was.... LOL, she said, oh, it's still purple. Moni

My Mom used to do it to her grand babies, and I suppose to her own babies as well. It was done after a bath, she called it measuring. She was a 1st generation Lithuanian American.

Both "yodich" and "Buss" are surnames. Buss also has other meanings, one of which, is a conductive bar for carrying electric current. Could the speakers you heard be refering to two people, e.g., George Yodich and Aunt Barbara Buss?
