Comments (22)Wow! Redroze, that marble in your bathroom is beautiful. Firsthouse, I am awake early and with a bundle of nerves. I feel overwhelmed sometimes as we are rushing to finish our kitchen. This was almost a disaster to rush, probably especially for me as each choice takes me so long to decide. And I think the pressure of feeling that I need to decide NOW on so many things has made it worse. (Almost like paralyzed panic!) To make a long story short, I am probably now trying to choose between Ceasarstone Raven and a Black/grey granite. I will not get the Pietra Cordosa as more than one source says it is easy to chip, etc. I still like the look of the Ceasarstone. I saw a picture of it on Smarge's kitchen and LOVE it. When I read how she chose it (Thank you Smarge for the pictures and your comments) I could see how I have similar thoughts and ideas. Even how she has marble and the beautiful mosiac backsplash. (My inspiration for my kitchen was originally the seaglass that I collect and I was thinking some of those colors mixed in a backsplash) I did see a honed absolute black countertop in a kitchen design store which both my DH and I liked. It had a box of ceasarstone samples on the end of it and I could have sworn that someone there told us it was ceasarstone. I went back to look at it yesterday and found out it was really granite. I liked it again, so this is a possibility too....See MoreCompac quartz marble lookalike

Comments (13)Hello Germain Wong, We're so glad to hear that you are considering Cambria Quartz for your current project. We'd be happy to offer some thoughts regarding the Cambria designs you are considering. Swanbridge, Brittanicca, and Ella are all great choices. We think the best way to decide on your final selection is to see slabs in person, or to order samples that you can compare against other material samples for your kitchen. To find a dealer near you who could show you full size slabs of the designs you are interested in, please visit the Dealer Locator Tool on our website. Typing in your zipcode will reveal a full list of partners who could assist you. For samples, you can order 12x12 and 3x3 tiles on our online shop here. Samples are always complimentary, we simply ask that our guests cover the cost of shipping and handling. Although Ella looks more similar to carrera marble, it is not a stark white. For a crisp, snow white, we recommend Brittanicca. Swanbridge is beautiful (attached is a photos of the design used in Wit & Delight's studio,) but it too is a bit more off-white than the others you have mentioned. Any other questions? We're here to help!...See MoreSF Getty mansion remodeled & sold, slideshow
Comments (8)Actually, I like what they did. Slavish adoration of Victorians is not my style. Those old houses are borderline unlivable by today's standards. The kitchens were for servants, the bathrooms archaic and the lack of closet space is maddening. And jeez, they are dark inside. Almost always poorly oriented to take advantage of views and light. I think its current state reflects a better balance of modern living in an old mansion better than the previous owners managed. And outside, a shiny red Tesla S, please! LOL!...See MoreCOMPAC
