dead rose tree comes back to life, but........
Comments (3)Ronda, not necessarily Dr. Huey. J&P developed a standard on it's own roots where the tree portion and roots are the same plant. The top portion is then grafted to this. Bailey's has Polar Joy which is all one plant. I'm sure they're working on others. My Polar Joy is constantly suckering new plants that would be the same if I wanted to take the time to train them as trees. But, the less expensive tree roses are standards grafted to a root stock then the desired variety grafted to the standard. It's cheaper this way with less labor....See MoreHelp nurse my dogwood back to health
Comments (3)I concur with anthracnose guess, although Dirr (guru) says there are two types of anthracnose. Other really common dogwood diseases are borer and powdery mildew. Good air circulation is important so leaves don't stay wet. Giving a stressed tree extra water is the usual recommendation, but you already have a lot of rain. It may be hopeless, or a tree service may be able to spray. "Several fungicides are reasonably effective for controlling the disease" (Dirr) If you remove the tree and still want a dogwood, try one of the Cornus florida x cornus kousa hybrids which are more resistant to anthracnose....See MoreCommemorating a life and giving back to a nursing home
Comments (3)What a lovely tribute! I understand how you feel. A tree would be lovely, if the nursing home wants it. What about a bench? That's awfully useful. You might sit down with the administrator or the social worker and ask what they could use, and see what fits into your budget. But if you really want to give back to the nursing home, think about becoming a Friendly Visitor or a volunteer at the nursing home. Your uncle had you to come visit, but many people have no one, or at least no one who comes to visit very often. You might also find a Senior Center near you that would like a volunteer to help with activities. After my mother died at age 95 a year ago, I signed up at our local Alliance on Aging to be a peer counselor, and I visit someone every week, and have been trained to listen and to offer what help I can to seniors dealing with depression or loneliness and other issues. There are so many other people who need your care, and I think your Uncle would like to know that you continue his legacy and treat others With Tender Loving Care. Hugs to you and your family on the loss of your beloved Uncle. There is obviously a lot of love in your family!...See MoreI Want My Life Back! Will it ever happen? (xanax drugs)
Comments (11)believe it not, caffine is a huge contributor to anxiety. First panic attack I had was cuz I drank several cups of coffee. In fact, everytime I drink coffee (which I love the taste of) I have a panic attack. Usually I can tolerate a soda, but I have pretty much completely cut out all caffine. My family and friends think I'm wussy for this. I have been on .025 mil. of xanax for the last almost 5 years. it was the only real thing that helped my anxiety attacks. But I started slowly weaning myself off.One every other day, then every two days.Got to the point where I only began taking them if actualy really needed them, which for a while was once a week, then once a month.Sometimes I'd even break them in half and only take a half. Now I have been off for 5 months.I still kinda need one around PMS time, when anxiety runs the worst for me,but I deal without best I can. Exercise does help alot.It gets out pent up energy and tension. Hot warm baths to relax tense muscles. Also, you may look into getting one of those massage chairs. Intimate contact helps too. During my worst attack,I was shaking and having terrible thoughts. My husband layed beside me and just held me until I finally fell asleep out of exsaustion. Now when I'm really tense,I hate to be crude, but having sex helps alot too. I also find,I try not to dwell on being mad or upset. The more I do,the more likely to have an attack. You need to detox though before you do anything.Quiting cold turkey could be very dangerous at this point. And...you will have some side effects from quitting like insomnia. I do occasionally still deal with that as my biggest withdrawl. I really know how you feel though. It is so terrible to be run by anxiety.Alot of people dont understand or think you are making it up....See Morebklyn citrus (zone 7B)
