Wall ovens installed under induction cooktop?
Comments (13)I like having all of the cooking activity in one area. Don't forget, that's all that was available till about 1960 or so. The one unfortunate part of my set-up is that the fan for the micro-hood (I have the Kenmore Advantium microwave/speedcook/convection unit above the cooktop) is not particulary effective, mostly because the fan openings are rather small and not situated where they will do the most good. It would also help if the thing was designed to better corral the steam & fumes toward the fan. Those over-the-range units are very convenient, but nobody seems to have made the fans very effective. Could be in part because customers don't complain enough....See More36" Bosch induction cooktop, which wall oven will work?
Comments (1)Can't help you with another brand, but I know from my own research hat both the Bosch 500 and 800 will work. Just read another thread where we 500 oven users discussed our experiences, and all were overwhelmingly positive. It is actually one of the larger interior 30" mainstream wall ovens out there. For a small up charge, you can get a gliding rack and (I think) still be under the 800 price. Still, if you don't like the looks of it, perhaps the 800 series would suit your needs without breaking the bank. I found that manufactures by and large do not test compatibility with other brands, so although mixing and matching may work, you may be taking a risk from a warranty perspective. In the end, we went with all Bosch and have been happy, but of course, ymmv....See MoreDual wall ovens, induction cooktop
Comments (2)I have double wall ovens and a 36 inch induction cooktop and I love this configuration. I don't always have all 5 hobs going, but I sure do appreciate it when I do! LIke this week, when I'm cooking for Thanksgiving. As to induction, I have a Miele and I'm in love with it, but I've rarely heard of anyone who doesn't like what they've chosen, so pick the one that has the features you're looking for and you should be fine. Some folks like an edge, others don't. Mine has a very thin edge that does NOT collect crud but does protect the edge of the glass, which I like. Some of the Bosch units look very nice, and if I was shopping today, i'd take a closer look at them. I wanted turn off timers on each burner, and at the time I was buying, Miele was one of the few choices. Now, many brands have this feature, which I use frequently. I chose Electrolux wave touch ovens. I have found them to be reliable and to work very well, and after rebate they were within my price range. The sensor probe is great, I use it frequently. They generally get good reviews here. I love the pull out ball bearing racks--they're just wonderful. As to shopping, I did my research, made a first and second choice for each item, then laid in wait for the best prices and rebates to come along over about a year and a half period. One day i was just browsing through a sale room and lo and behold, there was a discontinued Miele dishwasher for half off--my first choice machine! I did really well on pretty much everything but the cook top--that never went on sale, but I didn't really expect it to, and I didn't even care. :-) Induction is wonderful, you're going to love it. Best of luck to you, Cj...See More36" Bosch induction cooktop, which wall oven will work?
Comments (1)I believe the clearance under the cooktop will be primarily cooktop dependent, not oven dependent? You will get much better responses on such a technical topic over at the Appliance Forum. They know everything. Good luck....See Morebethl316
