One bedroom too hot at night

This is not the common problem of not enough airflow to the register etc. and it is a single story home, so it isn't heat rising into that room either. It's also a quite small home.

When the a/c kicks on, there is plenty of air flow to the room and the room cools down within a few minutes for as long as the a/c is running.

The problem seems to be that room then reheats faster than the rest of the house. I think it's because the room is small and body heat/breath heats it up in the middle of the night when the rest of the house stays cool and doesn't to trip the thermostat to turn on the central a/c.

The workaround has been to turn down the thermostat, but that freezes the other bedrooms.

Opening the bedroom door to let cool air from the hallway into the room would help, but people don't want to sleep with their bedroom door open. We also can't add a wall/window a/c to that room.

Is there any fix for this specific problem?

It's as if the room needs its own separate thermostat to regulate the temperature, but I don't see how it could get extra a/c cycles without freezing the rest of the house making everyone else sleep under blankets in summer..
