Identification of possible squash problem (Pic)
Comments (8)To the trained eye it looks like powdery mildew (PM). You can spray it with some milk but PM is air born and very hard to control. It will not affect the fruit at all. It may be more work trying to get rid of it than it's worth. It will get worse, if you want get ready with more seedlings. Good Luck, Gumby_CT...See MoreSquash identification
Comments (7)Let me take a shot at this. You said that it's a volunteer. Did you grow a couple of squash last year like a yellow and a zucchini, because I would say that it's a cross between the two. squash of the same type cross pretty easy, and It looks a lot like the cross I made once on purpose to see What it would become. The plant had the same semi vine habit and the fruit looked a lot the same though it was a lot more like a zuke not so short. the good news is it tasted pretty good and I keep the seed of the F1 cross so I could grow it every now and again and have been thinking of trying to stabilize it. I even named it. so I would say let it grow and see if you like it....See MoreSquash identification
