Another auto insurance question.

Ok before I had asked about doing the "online" comparison. Which everyone agreed was a bad idea...So what about going to an insurance broker vs directly to individual insurance companies?

So far, I've contacted State Farm directly for quotes. (currently with Mercury)

I'm shopping around because DD just got her license and to add her to my current policy, my monthly price doubles. If we were to get a 2nd car--very olllld car---it would triple!! Currently I am just a one car policy. But looking to bundle with homeowners to hopefully get better price. State Farm gave me come pretty decent quotes with bundling.

So insurance broker or not? Can't hurt right?
