    Are the double posts yours?

In any case, I find that sometimes I post and it doesn't seem to show up...but it will if I refresh the page. I think that some people post, think it didn't get posted, write it again, post it, and then have two posts.

That just happened to me awhile ago (nothing showed) when I submitted my post, so I left this sight and when I came back to check, viola, it showed up. I almost "re-posted" too.

    My problem is even 'weirder.'

I post a response on one forum (Florida forum) then move on to another forum (orchids) and my post from Florida shows up on Orchids.

Have no idea why that happens. When I go back to the Florida Forum, my post is gone and is now on the other forum. Yet, it was there on Florida before I left to the Orchids forum.

Its almost like I copied and cut the post from one forum and pasted it on the other...which I didn't do!

This has happened a number of times and can be a bit embarrassing. I thought maybe my mouse was messed up but it doesn't make sense how the original post disappeared from the first forum and wound up on the second.

    jane-

The only time that happened to me is when I was moving between different forums and thought I was in one but later realized I was in another, so posted an inapplicable answer. I don't think that a post magically moves to a different forum.

That's the problem I had been reading about. I would have thought that would have fixed that by now though.

If I understand correctly it's only when you post a new topic. The "apparent" duplicate appears in the index of whichever forum you next view (whether the same forum of a different forum). Except it's not really there, so when you "think" you've double posted and delete either one of them, they're both gone.

I had it happen to me once or twice in the test forum I think it was. I forget if the "duplicate" went away after a refresh or if I had to restart my browser. (which is set to clear cache when exiting)

Yes, still seems to be happening. I posted in the test forum and came back to Computer Help and this is what I see, which I will not delete:

Very strange, I don't see it in the test forum, just here and I made sure I was posting in the proper forum. :-))

Edit: Restarted the browser and it's now shows in the test forum.

    Richard-

It might be good to communicate those specifics directly to the GW webmaster, if you haven't already. I haven't had the problems you and Jane have reported, but I don't know if it's because I've gotten more careful, or what.

Supposedly they already know. And truthfully, it's not a big enough deal me to go to the trouble since I pretty much never start topics... besides, I'm feeling lazy. :-))

Yes, Richard, same thing. Both were new posts. I posted on the Florida forum asking for beekeepers. Then I went over to orchids and suddenly there was my post from Florida on beekeepers. I went back to Florida and my post about beekeepers was not there. So I deleted the post from Orchids.

This also happened last week. Same thing. I could not figure out how it happened. I was on different forums and my post showed up on the wrong one. I had to delete and they both were gone. Thought my mouse was the cause because it appeared like I cut the post from one forum and put it on the other.

Now that I know, I'm leaving a complaint on the discussion forum.

Thanks so much for letting me know its not my mouse!

Yes. It's a strange but interesting forum glitch which I wish I understood. But it's Houzz's problem, not yours. I'd read about it so much that I should have known the other day when it happened to me but I forgot and thought I'd posted in the wrong forum.

BTW, just to be sure, I just tried again using a different browser. Posted in the test forum, this time using Chromium instead of Firefox. Same thing happened.

Yes, I use Firefox so it isn't a browser problem.

Richard, where did you read about this?

Had I seen something about it, I wouldn't have driven my self nuts trying to figure out what I did wrong. I was going to order a new mouse/keyboard tonight. So, you saved me some money!

Thanks so much for posting first. Very strange, never ran into this before.

On the Kitchen Table forum. Of course when I just now tried searching for the numerous posts I've read, I didn't have much luck.

    Here's one though: http://ths.gardenweb.com/discussions/4677997/i-just-had-some-strange-board-weirdness-happen?n=12

    Still happening.

Just posted some photos of an orchid on the 'Orchid Forum.' Then I went to the 'Florida Forum' to read the latest posts. Did not post anything.

When the page opened there was my post from 'Orchids.'

I decided not to delete as it would delete both. I want to see if it stays that way. Since both are gardening forums I really don't care, but it is a bit unnerving.

So far, my post about a Florida native orchid hasn't shown up here :)
