update: mnf's june's one really weird swap partners :)
Comments (89)Good morning! Hope everyone is staying cool! We actually had some rain yesterday. The wind was blowing so hard it blew over my husbands crazy grill over. Propane tank and all! The worst part is it landed on top of some of my plants I had potted up :( They look kind of smooshed, but I planted them last night in the ground (crossing my fingers they make it). Shelly, Sue emailed me with my dc # for my box from another swap and was wondering if she did the same for you? Her hubby packed the box (with Sue supervising). I can't wait to see what's in there. As I told her in a email if that was left to my husband there would be a rotty, smelly, bare-root box headed someones way :0) Robin, when Liz emailed me that she sent your box out that was like 2 weeks ago! She also said in her email that she sent out a bunch of boxes and none of them have been received. And I haven't heard from her since. If you don't hear from her by Friday, we'll consider her not sending. And I'll get a box together for you...as I told Shelly, I have a lot of weirdness to go around :)...and its not fair that you have been waiting till the middle of July for a box you should have received in June (with no word of what is going on). I would rather send to you this coming week then wait till it gets hotter out...August is coming...and I can only imagine MORE HEAT! Please send me your mailing addy :) and I'll start making a list of this and that's for your weird box :) Have a super duper day everyone! vina...See MoreUPDATE: Weird, Odd & Unusual
Comments (47)Good Evening Ladies - I have the seeds all sorted and accounted for and tomorrow will search through my stash for peppers on your GW wish lists. I did have a few tomato wants. The envies should be sealed and ready for mailing tomorrow night; thus shipping on Thursday am. I was amazed that nearly every item on your wish list will come your way!! We rarely wanted the same things, so it's all spread out - YEAH!! Just a few packets have lower quantities, but enough to get started. Haley's Purple Comet is one example. But, I am growing it in my 2010 garden and my family say it's FABULOUS! There were only three ripe fruit, and mom was left out of the tasting. Anyway, I'll save seeds and can send more this fall. So check your mail boxes next week - Great selections and a wonderful swap!! THANKS - Happy Gardening - Deb...See MoreWeird wall board question
Comments (0)Wasn't sure where to post this, but since it was around my sliding glass door, I figured this would be the place. I was putting up hardware for my drapes and in one spot I just couldn't get the self-drilling anchor bolts to go in. I got my drill and drilled... it was definitely wallboard, but it was harder than the other dry wall around the window and much thicker. In the end I could only get one anchor bolt installed in it. 1) What the heck kind of drywall would be so thick and tough? 2) What can I use to anchor my drapery hook? A regular screw won't work and these self-drilling anchor bolts aren't doing well....See MorePowder Room - Update - BeadBoard, Wainscoting?
Comments (1)I wonder how wainscotting will look with the odd angles. It might accentuate how non-colonial the powder room dimensions are. I am no decorator, however and may be wrong. I do think that once you are done, you will wish you had replaced the toilet, too. It is more rounded, and the sink's sharp points and shiny finish may clash with it. I wonder if wallpapering the wall behind the toilet and the short wall behind the door , while painting the other two walls in semi-gloss (in case of splashes) might be a good idea? Or better, wallpapering the lower part of all of the walls with a non-vertical (like floral or all-over patterned) wallpaper might be better. I am thinking that it is the vertical stripes of the wainscotting that will draw attention to the room's shape, while a patterned wallpaper with a chair rail will not, so much....See MoreBunny
