Stainless steel oven left with white spots after kitchen renovation

My kitchen renovation was recently finished, and I'm left with these strange white spots on the stainless steel oven door. I'm not really sure what they are, but they are slightly raised like something is on the door, rather than something has damaged the door finish. I've tried everything I found online: bar keepers friend, dish soap mixed with baking soda, vinegar, stainless steel cleaner, a very fine grit wet sand paper, fine steel wool and even WD 40. After letting the WD 40 sit for a while it seemed like maybe it started to work on one of the really large spots, but after doing that multiple times again, it hasn't changed.

Is there anything else I can try?

No, definitely not. I did the painting myself. I think it could have happened during the final grout application, although the grout is dark gray. Or maybe after my cleaning service cleaned the first time after the renovation, but I can't imagine any common cleaner doing this...

You say, " I would NEVER buy ss again unless a magnet stuck to it, or in other words, it was real and not a composite or whatever this other stuff is. I think you mean the opposite, a magnet won't stick to real stainless steal. I use WD 40 on my SS real and fake and honestly it really works better than anything else I've tried. I've been a fan of WD 40 for a long time and buy it by the gallon at Home Depot and keep a small spray bottle in my kitchen, it really works to clean so many things and even removes stickers without ever damaging the item, unlike some products. Some people say they don't want to use it around food, but unless you are putting your food directly on the face of your refrigerator, it's safe.

I'm on my 3rd set of stainless counters. I put most hot stuff on them but I don't put hot cast iron or glass on them because I'm paranoid about my cooking vessel experiencing thermal shock and cracking. I do nothing to baby the counters. But I have large counters, and they are messy, so the pot of boiling goo doesn't always end up in the same place. I wouldn't worry about baking sheets and broiler pans in the same place over and over but heavier things might be a concern for you. Of course, I wouldn't care; that's just the spot where the hot pans go. Patina! (That said, it's easy to leave a trivet there if you always put stuff in the same place.) I would have done Corian in white because I love their integrated sinks, but they didn't have the sink model I wanted anymore (20 years too late). You could do a combo!

jhmarie, I have seen a lot of folks alter their cabinets after they're installed because of something they want. From what I understand, you have to cut the top rail of the cabinet out to put in the Whitehaven. Am I correct? It's also important to remember that an apron sink needs to be properly supported from underneath, since one gallon of water weights about 8 pounds. I encourage everyone who wants to do this to examine what's in place, what they have to do to alter it and whether it will hold up. I have had people come into the showroom and complain about the performance of a cabinet after they'd cut into it and modified it in some way. In the social media age, they're a lose-lose problem. Either the business pays out in money and time to fix a problem they didn't cause or they get ripped on social media because someone didn't get what they thought they deserved. I guess I'm saying: If you want to do this, fine. If there's a problem, then you own it. BTW, cutting holes for outlets and plumbing isn't included in my statements about voiding the warranty. Those are fine for most cabinet manufacturers.

OK, so I bought my appliances but haven't gotten them delivered yet since my house is not yet ready, so I can still return something if it turns out to not be good at all. I chose to buy a white top freezer refrigerator with a smooth finish instead of one of those bumpy ones. Stove, dishwasher, and range hood (when I buy it) are all stainless steel. Why? Based on where the stove and dishwasher are in the layout of my kitchen, they are in more or less the same spot on their respective walls of the L-shaped kitchen, offering a symmetrical look. A stainless steel refrigerator, based on its placement in the layout, would look asymmetrical, so I wanted something in a more similar color to the cabinets. After making my purchase, I noticed that Craigslist and Facebook are full of people selling white refrigerators so I wonder if I should return mine and get one of those instead. My parents' neighbors also gave me a side by side white refrigerator that is just the width I need, and the height is fine, so I wonder if I should just use that one, but I don't know how it would be transported into the house.

Put your oven on, and while hot try removing it with soapy sponge water. The heat of the oven will make it easier to remove hopefully.

We just tried of house cleaner and now our stainless steel Samsung stovetop has the same looking white spots. It's almost like it burnt the surface a little bit or etched it somehow. Some kind of a chemical reaction. She didn't use any chemicals that were not safe just stainless steel polish. She didn't know how it happened and we don't either. I tried lemon juice so far. And only let it sit about 20 seconds. But nothing is making it move at all. You can barely feel it on one of them the rest you can't fill it at all. It almost feels like it's not there. I tried to scratch my fingernail won't budge at all. Tried a little sponge eraser thing those white things my wife uses a little bit of abrasive It didn't do anything. It definitely looks like some kind of a chemical reaction maybe two different types of cleaning solutions that were safe? We didn't use any heat anyway trying to figure it out so my cleaner doesn't have to buy me a new stove top.
