I made monkey cupcakes for our grandson's 8th Birthday party. It was so much fun creating their faces!

Casey, I heard on the news that Newfoundland got more snow yesterday. Yikes. Gorgeous 'berg!!!!

I gave my neighbour below us a couple of rhubarb muffins (she likes telling me she'll be a willing taster for anything I cook).

A simple thank-you wouldn't suffice, when she returned my little plate. She breaks me up. (We both have cats)

Jasdip some places in Nfld got snow over the long weekend. None here where I live though!

skibby I found them on Pinterest when grandson asked for monkey cupcakes on his 2nd Birthday, and he's asked for them every year since!. The only special tool you need is a specific decorating tip to make the frosting look like fur. Otherwise you make the cupcakes then lightly frost with chocolate buttercream frosting, then add the vanilla water for the face and two mini vanilla waters for the ears. (You have to trim about 1/3 off of each mini wafer) then cover the rest of the cupcake using the fur tip. The eyes are a mini marshmallow cut in half crossways, with a dot of black gel. Nose and mouth are also black gel. They're not hard but they are time consuming!

Casey, that is a beautiful picture! I am naive about icebergs up in your neck of the woods and I need to ask if this is a real photo? Its just stunning! I've been up to Nova Scotia and PEI, but not to Newfoundland. I'm amazed.
