Since Sunday, my yard has been alive with the Red Admiral Butterflies. Can you find the Red Admiral in the picture below. In the early morning sun, this crabapple was swarming with them. Pic was taken from inside and 30 feet away.

No flowers or birds. I get so frustrated with our frig. It's not old at all, but it doesn't seem to have that much room. So we used some money from the savings jar to buy a little compact frig. All frig, no freezer. I'm so excited. Now all the large juices, extra eggs, extra half-and-half etc etc can go there. It was regularly $299 on sale for $125 with an 18-month warranty. Happy camper. That's not a scratch on the front, I guess I didn't get all of the markings from the tape off. I'll go do that now. It's not plugged in yet, because we had it on its side to bring home. It will be much fuller than this, when it's running.

I came home tonight to feed the horses, saw they needed water, so I turned it on, went and fed the cat and returned after a couple of minutes to check the water. There were three raccoons in the paddock grabbing up each piece of grain that the horse dropped. They scrambled up a tree and were staring down at me. I got the camera, and when I came back out, two had fled, but one was still there. When the water trough was filled, I turned off the water, went in the house, and heard a noise from where the cat's bowl is. It was this guy: The flash of the camera scared him off, but 10 minutes later I heard noises again. I assumed it was the opossum again but this time it was a jumbo sized raccoon, probably heavier than all three from the paddock put together.
