We had been waiting a long time for this oven to appear in Canada and we planned to install it in our new condo that is under construction. We had ordered it and obtained confirmation from Miele that it would operate at 208v. We have since found out that this oven has not been approved by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) for use at 208v and consequently Miele are now not offering it for sale in Canada. Apparently it has been approved by the CSA to run at 240v but no one in Canada has this voltage available to them. Our condo builder told us it would cost about $2000 for extra wiring and a transformer and we would have to put up with a hum and a transformer mounted "in the open" for cooling requirements. He also told us he would not install a device if it was not CSA approved. If any Canadian reader has a different story on the power supply, we would like to know. We were very, very keen to get this oven and are frustrated that Miele would not have addressed this power supply issue.

This is a great thread, and thanks to everyone for the insightful information! I'm wondering if you can give more details on how you clean your Wolf CSO? I watched a video for Thermador's CSO and was a bit alarmed by the evaporator well in the bottom that one has to clean with a provided yellow sponge each night. Do you find that you need to do the same with your Wolf? We had a demo at the SZ showroom and they said a simple wipe down of any moisture inside would do. Also, the chef said that at home she only needed to refill the water when needed, 1-2 times per week (and she has a family of 5). The Thermador video also said that the water should be emptied out each night. What do you do to clean/maintain the water for your Wolf? Thanks for any info you can provide!

RE: Miele vs Wolf. We have a vacation home with Miele speed oven (2010)(combo of microwave and convection with broiler), 30" convection oven, and induction cooktop. We use the speed oven for everything except large meats due to its speed of heating up with the 'rapid heat' feature, but find it inconvenient to not have a microwave available if we are using the oven. But, to simply microwave requires about 5 or 6 steps on the digital panel, a big PITA. And, guests cannot figure out how to use the German minimalist controls for the induction and the microwave. Form over function! So, with our new home in Seattle (2015) we used all Wolf this time. We use the steam convection oven daily, and we don't clean it much. I did a side by side at Albert Lee showroom putting muffins and almond croissants into the Wolf and the Miele, both cold, set both to steam convection at about 360ºF. The Wolf was easier to set (even the showroom person had difficulty navigating the Miele minimalist digital screen). In about 5 minutes the Wolf produced internally moist, externally browned and crispy croissants, the Miele was not yet flaky or crisp on the outside. So, that made my decision for me! Does anyone know if the baking soda/peroxide past cleaning regimen damages the Wolf CSO? Thanks all for the entries. I am late in responding, having just read the thread.

The worse installers and product ever. Had whole kitchen installed and they never hooked up the water lines to 3 ovens. They have been back at least 5-6 times and cannot get the combo steam oven working, its been a year and at least 30 phone calls to service, with promise of return and ok to swap out with a new one- 2 months ago- and still now one at Miele will take ownership of this issue and exchange the lemon. Incredibly poor performance for a company that bills themselves as the best product and customer service. Service managers refuse to speak with me, only front line folks (who are very nice). Go with Wolf- I spent $45K on Miele and I regret it ever since the installs 1 yr ago.
