I'm glad everyone understands my frustration! Now, if they would have dug up the butterfly bush, I would have been thrilled!!! That thing really needs to be removed, but its root system is massive! I guess I'll just try to root some cuttings off of one of my other roses (Ballerina would look pretty there) to replace White Out. I really don't want to spend anymore money if people are going to just dig up my plants and take them. As for people stealing my fruit, that hasn't happened. Luckily, all my fruit trees are in the backyard within the fence. So the only one that steels it is my cocker spanial who has learned to jump up and rattle the tree...lol! Same fate for my raspberries and blueberries...eaten by the dogs long before they ever ripen. Let me tell you, I will definitely be keeping my eyes open for a White Out in some of my neighbor's gardens ;) Tammy

I wanted to share a couple other ways your identy/money can be stolen. Both happened to me. By the way, I'm really sorry you've gone through this. It is so frustrating. It seems like the majority of id theft is from credit cards. This first one happened years ago, when this was a relatively new crime, but it wasn't credit. Someone took my name and driver's licence number and the account number of a closed checking account. Then they created a new account and went shopping, at Sears, Macy's, Home Depot, and Victoria's Secret. All in one day. They almost got cought at VS, which ended their shopping spree. I believe they got over $3,000 in merchandise. It was a NIGHTMARE trying to convince all the different agencies and stores that I wasnt the thief. I didn't lose any money, but my driver's license number is still flagged with telecheck. Sixteen years later. BTW, after I made contact with Macy's to explain the situation, Macy's started billing me for the $900 purchase. We had a pretty heated conversation about how they wouldn't even have my information if I hadn't called them to do the right thing. The other was just a couple years ago. I was going over my bank statement and saw a payment to a cell phone company that we don't use. I checked a few monthes prior and noticed I had been paying someone elses bills. Cell phone and the utility bills. The utility bill was easy to miss because I use the same company. It was the cell bill that tipped me off. Someone used the account and routing number off a check one of us wrote and was paying her bills online. Once I cought it, I called the bank PG&E, and Verizon and had everything taken care of. The utility companies went after her on their own, so I don't know the outcome. There was a name on the accounts, but I was told it was probably fake. So anyway, these are just a couple more areasto consider and keep an eye on. Also, Sears can be kinda shifty. I would still be a little suspicious of them. I would not put it past them to issue you an unsolicited credit card. On the off chance that you accept it. It doesn't make much sense for a credit thief to have the card sent to your house. Unless, they were watching your house hoping to intercept your mail

We love the quality of our cameras and the Blue Iris software. Whatever you do, don't get a fake camera!! Criminals can tell the difference, and by the way, real cameras DO have a red light. Also, you will need to get a camera that will go the distance needed for how far away your plants are. Our house is very close to the road. I'm guessing about 35ft off the road, but I wanted the cameras to have the distance to go the length of our property. Different cameras have different distances. I believe back in May when I was shopping on Amazon for the cameras I saw some that go 150ft, but we didn't need that much distance. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Of course I would not want someone else posting on Houzz under my credentials but more importantly it is the acquisition of my personal information, bit by bit, from a variety of on-line sources that at some point can lead to a perfect storm. Off the top of my head I would bet that in ones Houzz account, at the least, there is listed one's name and email address. So say your Houzz account has been comprised (say because of a poorly chosen password or the like). And this piece of information ie email address, coupled some other "pieces of the identity puzzle", say the through social engineering ie "data mining" which results in more personal information e.g. address, confirmation of your (full) name or maybe even a cell phone # (maybe gotten through FB or some other social media sites or other forums that one might belong to under the same username and or email address). Having these two pieces of information really opens up the possibilities for "bad things" to more easily happen. For example one such scam that has been in the news lately is "The number porting/sim swapping scam": https://www.iheartradio.ca/cjad/news/fraud-alert-you-might-want-to-know-what-a-port-out-phone-scam-is-1.10036931 Please do a search for more such examples. This scam is happening with great enough regularity that "LAWMAKERS ASK FCC TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT SIM SWAPPING" ie (from January 8 2020): https://duo.com/decipher/lawmakers-ask-fcc-to-do-something-about-sim-swapping With your email and "them" in control of your cell #, the "hacker" can do a partial login to other sites that you might consider of more value to you...say your email account. And when they select the option "forget password", and with you having 2FA enabled but with the SMS option being the second factor then that code is viewable by the hacker, letting them get into your email account. For me that would be disastrous. Of course one can argue that can never happen to "me". Fine. But I want the option to better secure my personal information found in my Houzz account.
