bush/tree for privacy in Maryland

ann brot

Is there a native tree or bush in Maryland that grows no taller than 20' that is good for privacy from bottom on up? Also they are in full sun. Thanks!

Bayberry/wax myrtle would work - either Morella (formerly Myrica) pennsylvanica or M. cerifera. The first is semi-evergreen; the second fully evergreen. Some hollies would work also but I am not very familiar with any of the east coast species.

Thank you very much! We were thinking of alternating trees with hollies. Going to see what it looks like right now
