Veracruz Rose Vs Miami Rose: Compare & Contrast
Comments (12)Hello EVeryone!!! I was surprised to see Henry Apples Dupree go for either no bid..or 16.99. This is a great tree! LOL.. i know what you mean about announcing what you likee... But i will say that the fragrance on the Vera Cruz Rose is just wonderful!! You will be so pleased with the scent. Miami Rose is a beauty as well, but not as fragrant as the VCR IMO.. The colors are both beauties.. Here are mine. Miami Rose Vera Cruz Rose Good Luck!! Both are beauties!!! Laura...See MoreDo yellow and pale pink roses go together?
Comments (31)Yellow and pinks are more or less complementary colours. It is a classic combination in colour designs. However, it also depends on the hues of colours. A hot lipstick pink may not look great beside a faded creamy yellow for example. In the end, it really depends on what kind of effect you are trying to achieve. I don't really care about clashing colours myself because in the natural world, all colours are mixed together not segregated. But for those folks who wants the "designer" looks, it is another story. The general rule with regard to colours in gardening is that soft colours especially blue and pink tones colours will appear further away as opposed to hot fiery colours. This "rule" may be important for someone who has a small garden. If you want your garden to appear larger than they are, you may want to plant all the soft blue tones flowers in the back and the red fiery to the front as the eyes will detect the fiery colours first. It will trick the eye that the garden is much larger than it is....See MoreComparing a few red roses
Comments (55)About 6 weeks later and a lot hotter in my yard. Here are the current reds...(left to right) Castro Breen (possibly Bloomfield Courage) still sporadically blooming. Don Juan. Smaller and lighter, but still a blooming fool. It hasn't stopped blooming or slowed down at all over the past 2 months, even with temps over 100. Chrysler Imperial. A little lighter and brighter and bug eaten, but still blooming, fragrant and gorgeous. This one is 50+ years old and probably virused, but still phenomenal. Florentina. Blooms in nice clusters. No fragrance, but very pretty and handles heat well. Souvenir du Docteur Jamain. Very young, but has been blooming steadily and extremely fragrant. My favorite color of purple-y red. Dark Desire. Oh the fragrance. The color. So healthy. My favorite new rose. Archduke Charles. It's been very hot here so the color doesn't have as much ombré as it would in weather under 90. An ombré bud, red with pink center bloom, and darker red bloom. I love the color change of ADC. I garden organically so they're all a little bug eaten. Please forgive their natural shortcomings....See MoreWondering about Summer Romance
Comments (122)Summer Romance spotted at Home Depot in the Seattle area for $12.98 in 1.5 gallon pots, nice sized, probably own root. I planted Summer Romance last fall as a young plant from Roses Unlimited. This spring the plant has grown nicely and is starting to bloom in my Pacific Northwest garden. The scent is incredible. The blooms are beautiful. The bush is really healthy and beautiful. Love this rose....See MoreCori Ann - H0uzz violated my privacy
