Is Vintage Garden's fall release still going to be occurring in early August of this year? I have looked forward to their rose releases every year for almost four consecutive years. I am so excited to hear that they will be releasing roses from selections they have not offered before. I am waiting eagerly to see the list they send of what they will offer for this fall season. I hope to get some Bourbon roses and China roses during this next release. I keep missing out and ordering too late for most of the Bourbon rose and China rose offerings from Vintage Gardens.

Hello Karen - Oh yes, it sure is in my neck of the woods:) Darn, I have to miss this one though, because we are building a chicken coop. And besides that, I'm really trying so hard not to buy more plants and concentrate on the 180 seedlings that I just potted up recently. Most of the tree size cuttings are doing well. I had some root rot similar to KarenB's Celadine. Had to cut those and start over. I've also noticed that in this heat that we are experiencing, the blooms are so vibrant. But the down side is that it fades quickly. Last summer I got one of those pop up canope from Home Depot(on sale) and it served me well. The wind took care of that this year and left me a pile of metal. What I really need is the shade structure that Jack has. Maybe this way, I'll be able to enjoy the blooms longer. Anyways Karen, have fun at the sale.

sally2 - I stumbled across the Scandinavian version of the Pizelle Iron in another cupboard. It's called the Krumkake Iron (kruum - ca-ca) I think we can all agree that it does not sound as appetizing as "pizelle". The one I have is in rough shape....another garage sale rescue. I'm pretty sure that's the reason I have never used it....that and the fact that I am not fond of sweets. Nordic Ware is another local Scandinavian company. The style has not changed over the years. The link is to the one you can buy today. Mine was made in the 40's and looks identical. I think the big difference between pizelles and krumkake is that most often the krumkake is rolled into a cone while it is still hot and soft. DH got new golf clubs for his birthday and was going to the practice range today to try them out. I got a call from a woman who said my DH was at her house and wanted me to come there as soon as possible. It was a yard sale. She then let DH tell me where he was. It wasn't very far away and he was standing in the street looking for me. He found an old oak table and chairs (6) with a big leaf for it. Just what we have been looking for. It was only $50. We can't pick it up until Monday afternoon or Tuesday because we won't have a pick up truck. I am so happy! DH went on to the golf course and on my way home I found another garage sale. I found the perfect purse thingy to replace my fanny pack for a dollar and then some candle holders (?) I liked. They were hollow all the way to the bottom so I am going to use them for bud vases. They were also a dollar and I asked the man to lower the price but he said he couldn't......sob story about how her was selling stuff for a old woman whose husband left her. (It was probably his wife.) LOL It was a good day for me!
