You won't be able to dye it in the cone, of course. You'll need to make it into skeins....tie each skein together, loosely, in several places, to hold it together. If too tight, you wil 'miss' areas that will be covered up with the rest of the yarn.(tie it in a figure eight, with the cross over in the middle of the skein). You CAN use squeeze bottles with different colors...use those with the pointy end that you get in hair product supply places..those that are used for 'doing roots, etc. Personally, I'd try a sample skein, to see if you like it, see how the yarn 'takes the color', etc.. (dry yarn will take it completely differently than a damp skein). You wouldn't have to use large skeins, with lots of yarn...just a small one, tied the way you plan to tie the bigger ones will let you know if you like your results, without wasting a lot of yarn. (you want it loose enough so you can sort of 'fan out' the skein). After you've finished, be sure to then wash it, to see what effect that will have on the finished product. You might also want to do some internet reading on using kool ade to dye with...I've not tried it,(nor have I died cotton yarn...I'm strictly a wool gal), but you can get very bright and WOW colors using koolade. I've not actually seen it done on yarn itself, but on roving BEFORE it was spun into yarn, but the principle should be the same.

We have a patio door w/cordless, cellular shades (Graber brand). The look is similar to a French door but the panel on the left side is stationary. Consequently, the door part (on the right) opens toward the stationary panel on the left. The problem w/the cordless cell shades is that they stuck out too far from the stationary panel and from the door. This meant they would hit each other whenever the door was opened too far (it couldn't open all the way due to the shades). This happened a lot, unfortunately, because it was the door to the backyard and we go outside frequently. We've had the shades about four years; in the last six months or so, one of the cords snapped on the shade on the door so the blind would no longer stay up. We opened and closed these shade a lot b/c I liked them open but DH wanted privacy. Another thing about these shades is that they clanked against the door whenever it was opened or closed. I found that very annoying. I'm looking to replace these shades with panels on flush mount rods. Incidentally, we have a window with a corded cellular shade purchased at the same time and it's working great.

After getting irritated that your neighbor did not tell you about the dye before hand, you boast that you did not tell him about dye you ordered? Wouldn't want to be the neighbor of either of you! You may want to ask your lawyer how your planned action differs from your neighbor's.

Jan....I really don’t care for plantation shutters. Never liked the look of them. Don’t like the way they look when closed, and they take up too much space when pulled back and opened. I actually don’t like blinds of any kind (something about the slats) and plantation shutters are extreme in the slat department. Too big and bulky for me. With cellular shades, when they’re open, they are up and out of the way and are barely noticeable. Same thing when they’re closed, I just don’t notice them.
