mekales, Looks like a black-capped chickadee (one of my favorite birds). I enjoy listening to them too. Their name is based on the chickadee sound they make, and I like hearing their "fee-bay" territory sound, probably because I like the bird so much. Here's a link for you to take a look to help you decide. Lori Here is a link that might be useful: enature.com page for black-capped Chickadee

In knowing a bit about birds, I can tell this bird is a woodpecker. That led me toward the ID quite easily, even without knowledge of Costa Rican species. See the link I provided to find it. Perhaps you could verify that this website has the species named correctly, as I only spend a few seconds on this. The correct name of that bird is Rock Pigeon (Columba livea). All the populations in the US are feral populations. Truly "wild" Rock Pigeons are becoming quite rare in parts of their natural range (southern Europe, northern Africa and west to India). In the wild, they are restricted to cliffs and mountainous areas, thus the name Rock Pigeon). But they have managed to adapt quite well to the "cliffs" that man builds in big cities (i.e. buildings).
