New cast iron pizza pan arrived, does not appear to be seasoned

I received the Camp Chef cast iron pizza pan yesterday but only today opened the box. It is definitely made in China, and the surface is very inferior to the Lodge comal pan that I just bought. The comal appears to be ready to use, and the CC says that it is seasoned and ready to use, but the surface is very rough and feels scratchy - it definitely does not feel smooth or non-stick. Should I sand it first? I think I did that with my cast iron griddle. If so, what sandpaper should I use. I would like the surface to be a lot smoother than it is now. It would probably be okay for making flour tortillas (one of the main reasons I bought it), but I think pancakes would stick. Incidentally, the box has tortillas at the top of the list of uses for this pan! I sort of like that it is light (5#), but I also think that I would also like to get the Lodge pan, which weighs more than twice as much and probably has a better surface, if the Lodge comal pan is any indication.

Anyway, my main question concerns whether I should sand the pan or not. WWMSD?
