Forum is a tad slow through the summer - everyone is hopefully outdoors enjoying their summer! I'm not familiar with the variety of pelargonium you have, but I do grow the more common bedding plant, and a scented one. My experience with their cuttings is that a fresh, quick grown, green cutting roots for me, anything woody does not. You've probably taken your cuttings by now, if you stuck with the 3-4" tips lengths, they are probably nice and green and should root. I've read (and experienced in my indoor rooting projects - I'm up in Canada) that use of rooting hormone produces rot, not roots! But in your area, I'm not sure. If you search this site for rooting tips, you'll find lots to help you along. Best of Growing!

Konrad, thank you for the advice. I was wondering in particular about all the small twigs/spurs at the top -- perhaps they are not too visible in the pic. When it stops raining I will take and post a better pic. Barrie, are you offering to come harvest the ingredients for me? ;)

A. boormanii is naturally a multi-trunked (mallee) wattle. You can expect to see many more trunks appear from root suckers in the future, forming a clump style plant. They can take quite heavy pruning to whatever shape you want to give it. I know the ones at Burnley horticultural college in Melbourne are cut back to practically ground level every few years to keep them bushy.

The vine looks good for cane pruning already, your main canes could be the one out the left, and the one out the right. The middle cane is mostly for back-up or for a 'headed design'. this cane could be cut off flush if you want. Use a wound sealant on the cuts, and check the cuts again in a week to make sure sap has not pushed away the wound-paint, if required re-apply. Use a wood conditioning spray at this time, copper and spray-oil in combination or a Lime-Sulphur would be a second choice.
