Will I Pad be useful with only Wi-Fi
Comments (8)Most people I know who have an iPad (or any other tablet) use it on WiFi. There are iPads and other tablets that can also use a cellular data connection. It's certainly a useful feature to have but it is far from essential and is probably most beneficial to those who travel frequently. Frankly, I think a 7" tablet is a little small to be used as a desktop or laptop substitute on a regular basis, especially for web browsing. I also think that the iPad Mini is a bit pricey. I'd suggest spending more for a full size iPad or looking at one of the 7" Android alternatives like the Nexus 7....See MoreI Pad for kit use
Comments (13)Flex data is a small amt of data per month, I think just 10mb, for $5. Then if you go over it bumps up to either $15 for 1gb or $35 for 5gb. It's nice b/c I get enough for random intermittent usage for just 5 bucks, but then in August when we spend 2 weeks at the cottage without any wifi, I can still get Internet for just $35. I think flex plans are available from most providers... mine is bell in Canada, but I imagine AT&T, sprint, Verizon have similar. You can probably also just buy a month separately when you travel, but for me it's not worth the hassle factor of signing up and canceling when 5 bucks a month takes care of it. Bottom line, you don't have to decide on a data plan when you buy the device ... just make sure it's wireless capable if you think you will want to sign up for something down the road....See More'Why your kitchen wants its own iPad'
Comments (30)Yes, there are innumerable PDF readers for ipad. I prefer goodreader myself, but there are dozens to choose from. Not sure what you mean by "not compatible with adobe". You can't run any desktop program on any tablet (from any maker) because they use a different operating system, but Adobe has quite a number of programs for ipad, including ones that let you use the ipad to control the desktop version of PS. iPads don't do Flash, but that's not much of an issue anymore. For large commercial sites that still have flash content on their web pages there's often an app you can download that lets you view their content on the ipad....See MoreiPad pictures on Houzz.......
