Marcy, I'm very sorry to read that. Nature can be brutal at times, but it's the way of the food chain unfortunately.

Thanks Dawn! I'm sorry for all the work mom and dad went to just to loose the babies. As soon as I noticed them sitting in the bush I watched like a hawk and removed every piece of nesting material as they brought it but we were gone for a long weekend and by the time we got back the nest was built and had an egg. There were no feathers or sign of struggle so I assume a chicken snake got them.
