Great pictures this morning. Nicole, I love how that owl just blends in with the tree! No wonder they are so hard to see out in the woods. I took my picture just now. We have had a ton of rain in the past 24 hours and the daffodils are a bit droopy.

FANTASTIC shot, Nicole!!!!! We only have ruby-throated hummers here. I always worry when we get bad weather after I've seen them return, but I guess they know what they're doing. They usually show up sometime around May 10, so I try to have my feeders out in early May. I haven't a clue when they might return this year because we're so far behind on the weather.

Yesterday, we had a pair of opossums visit our yard at 11am. Bold creatures. We have been seeing them quite frequently lately, but typically in the evening and after sunset. And this would be the partner in crime, below. Broke one of my young prized shrubs, he did. Can you see the guilty look on his face? Yeah, neither can I.

Pretty eggs, but they make me a bit sad. Our bluebirds did not show up for the first time in about 5-6 years. We don't have the ideal habitat, but some years they would even raise a second brood. I miss them.
