I pulled out a slow-growing kind of hawthorn after several years because it never got over being topped to fit in the box. The grower had trained it to have a tree shape with a clear stem and elevated crown and then the seller shortened the elevated crown to get the tree to fit in the box, thereby effectively destroying the merchandise at time of packaging (because this particular kind of tree was not any good at restoring its shape with any expediency - the remaining horizontal side branches continued as before but the response to the topping was a cluster of weak little twigs from beneath the cut). I of course paid more for this too-big-to-fit-in-our-boxes size, again only to have it deformed and spoiled. I would have gladly bought a cheaper one but they offered only the one size.

In fact they do not ship to home....Buuuuttt;-) I do know them there and I did find out for you that they do ship to a place in Canada that provides these trees for you.. Yes, normally each person pays postage on the box they mail. I have had instances when one trade is considerably heavier the other compensates, but that has been rare. Any time items are sent for postage, it is arranged up front how to pay shipping. I prefer your method of prepaid label, but sometimes check, money order, or paypal is used. I'm in a cold winter area so I don't want to dig or plant at that time so I don't trade til spring. I suppose might be different for those trading greenhouse plants. I've not heard of anyone using a heat pack, but I don't trade house plants.
