What other Perennials You have planted near your roses?
Comments (15)In Northern California, I have these perennials mixed in with my roses, penstemone, salvia, scabiosa, yarrow, blanket flowers burgundy, oranges & lemons, perennial geraniums Rozanne, Jolly Bee, and Brookside, verbascum, sidalcea party girl, sun loving foxgloves like excelsior and camelot, English lavender, sea lavender, veronica, creeping lobelia, Japanese iris, Chinese foxglove, and lots of campanula. With the salvia and penstemone you have to be careful to select smaller varieties. Many of the hardy geranium do not like full sun, I have found that Jolly Bee handles the sun better than most. My favorite scabiosa is giant blue, the flowers are Hugh and the butterflies love them. I am somewhat limited since I have such intense full sun, and limited space. I miss my bearded iris, I only have a few due to limited space. Diana...See Morecleaning fixtures near marble-what do you do?
Comments (2)I have carrara marble on a vanity and bathroom floor. On the vanity I just use a PH neutral liquid soap and water, rinse and dry with a soft cloth. I do the same with the polished nickel faucets. For the mirrors, I use nothing but a wet microfiber cloth and dry with a dry microfiber-does a great job! On the marble If you want something stronger, you can use clear ammonia and water or hydrogen peroxide( light colored marble). All of these should be safe for the chrome. The big thing with marble is no acids and so many products have acids. I do seal my marble every 6-12 months....See MoreWhat Do You Have Too Much Of, & Why Do You Have It?
Comments (89)So many people with issues with parents...sad. I was loved, I had toys and gifts, dresses, dolls, books, sport stuff, games,I lacked for nothing . But as I got older, I think I tried to "recapture" my childhood. As an adult, I loved antique shows, flea markets, garage sales. Any time I saw something we had in our house growing up, I had to buy it. I even bought too many rose bushes and planted them in my garden, trying to re-create my Grandma's rose garden. I now have a linen closet stacked with doilies and tablecloths I'll never use, sets of fancy glasses too fragile to use, things like that. Oh, and on the funny side, my daughter cleaned out my bathroom just yesterday. She found eleven bottles of Listerine. I don't know, I hate the stuff, it burns... I remember buying one bottle because it did everything, whitens teeth, freshens breath, makes gums healthy, strengthens the enamel. I'm just always looking for something to make me happy....See MoreWok on Fire, do you have one near you?
Comments (17)We have Mongolian Grill- same premise. We were really grossed out, though. The cooks were standing over the large wok or frying surface and sweating right into the food! You could see them wipe the sweat from the heat off their foreheads but most of the drops went right into the food! Also, the raw food sitting on the buffet table for you to choose from looked bad. I don't believe the temperature was safe for the foods. No more, thank you!...See Morephoggie
