What have people done with old, wooden ladders?
Comments (47)I took out our old rickety latter the other day. And after 2 unsuccessful trips to Walmart for pots, I went to the grocery store and bought 4 disposable loaf pans. Reason for disposable is that I could easily put holes in the bottom and that they were pliable and cheap! I brought them home and they do fit except the next to top where I was able to bend it in. Next I spray painted them with that new textured spray paint that looks like stone. That stuff is great! I am so excited how it looks. It fills up a space where I was looking for heigt. Need to paint it next week when I am on vacation. I love this site with all your ideas. Thank you as my mom was quite impressed with what I did....See MoreMy circular potager - new this year **10 photos **
Comments (43)I just posted about doing a circular garden, and then found this post. So inspirational! I am going to show these photos to DH, as they capture the Spirit I was going for. We even have some flagstones that got left behind at this house. Your photos made me think of a quick glimpse I had of a photo of a garden at the Kripalu Yoga Center. Thank you so much for sharing... and you do know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery??! BTW, I am in Syracuse....See Morepool ladder has algea
Comments (1)We had the same problem earlier this season. We actually found that the sand bag we used to hold the ladder/stairs down was the problem. Removed that, took the stairs down and cleaned the ladder real good with bleach water. Found some algeacide at wally world, ran that through for a couple of days and we were back to normal. Make sure to scrub the area of the liner as well....See MoreSite for Uses for Old Ladders?
Comments (12)I have a step ladder in my flower garden that I planted vines and am anticipating how it will look. Also I use a ladder to hold up my tomatoe plants. I use posts pounded in the soil to position the ladder horizontally above the plants, tie the ladder at the posts so they grow up throught the holes between the rungs. They flop over the rungs and it keeps them of the ground. I have a step ladder half I want to use as a trellis against a building. I am a gardener, can you tell?...See MoreLydia Kennedy
