Which super single Blaco sink should I get?
Comments (8)I had this same decision. I had asked similiar questions. The blancodiamond has the lip on the back which allows it to be either a drop-in or undermount application. The blancoprecis is for undermount. Someone had mentioned that their faucet didn't allow for the blancodiamond's extra thickness in terms of the deck thickness maximum on faucets...if that makes sense. I went with the blancoprecis as it was a true undermount sink. I loved the way the blancodiamond had the offset drain but I didn't want to deal with any possible problems that I read about with the diamond lip in the back. Comments (6)Sorry, I didn't see your comment until now - better 2 years late than never. My plumber installed an Aqua Pure filter about 20 years ago and I've never had a problem with it. If you haven't already installed something, try looking at their 102T or 141T models. There are other equally good brands though - my current water treatment company uses Big Blue. The most important thing is to choose the replacement cartridge that you want to use and then choose the appropriate assembly to go with it. Small carbon filters can be very slow (the first one I installed was 3 gpm), so you'll want a bigger one with a high flow rate if you're filtering the water for your entire house. I currently use an Aqua Pure AP817 filter which has a 10gpm flow rate. It works well, but it's pricey (about $32.50 through Amazon Subscribe & Save)....See MoreTicor sink - should i get a brushed rim or not?
Comments (2)Brushed bowl & rim! The "brushed" look helps "disguise" scratches while a nice patina develops over time. When I got my Ticor, they didn't have the option of a brushed rim, so mine is polished. The rim doesn't get scratched as often, so even after 7 years, I still don't have the nice patina that will eventually develop - the scratches are fairly obvious on the rim. I wish they had had it back in 2007/2008!...See MoreWhat 24" wall ovens should I avoid and which one should I get?
Comments (5)I have an older 24" oven, and I've done some research in the event we have to replace it. Most of the 24" models are European brands, and certainly most with convection are European. In your price range, Fagor and Bosch are probably your best bets. Someone on the Appliance forum has a Fagor 24" oven, and there are some posts about it there. Bosch, of course, is more widely available. Neither of those will have temperature probes; for that, you would probably need to step up about $1,000 over your budget to Miele....See More- 7 years ago
