Breathing issues
Comments (2)Could it be your sinus or more particularly your nose. I am allergic to dust and cat dander. and both allergies affect me differently. The cat dander gets me in the throat, but the dust seem to swell the tissues of my nose, mostly on the left side. When they are bothering me and I lay on my right side I have a hard time breathing even with allergy pills. On my left side it is not so bad. If I plug my right nostril and breathe deeply, I am hardly getting any air at all. If I mouth breath I get full air. Once I discovered this I started using saline nose spray and it helps....See MoreAnyone have experience with shortness of breath?
Comments (39)Hi guys, thanks for asking! I'm waiting, too. I haven't a clue about the outcome of the test. Usually, if a test looks fine, the technician will at least give me a hint. But this one, who seemed to be in a rather irritated mood even before the test, said, "That's for your doctor to tell you. We're not allowed." So all I know is that I couldn't have done any better with it. During the treadmill part I focused on pleasant, relaxing thoughts to eliminate the possibility of tension skewing the results. (The author Norman Cousins taught me to do this many years ago.) The guy manning the treadmill and EKG readouts (or whatever they were) said, "You did awesome." Now I can only hope my doctor says the same thing. I appreciate you thinking of me! Susan...See MoreLook what's on YouTube....take a deep breath!
Comments (28)Tom it is a local program with minimal funding from the feds and the state. Since it is all volunteer, you know what that brings with it. We are a gardening county and we have a lot of ag, which means that we do a lot of food gardening volunteer work in community gardens and schools. We also have an active SOD taskforce and an extensive speaker series at local schools and libraries. It is very much what the locals make of it, which means that there is a lack of consistency nationwide. Here the Farm Advisor (what most states call the Extension Agent) is very involved, That is not always the case. MGs serve at the pleasure of the EA or the FA, so if there is a problem, he/she is often the root of it. California is also one of the few (if not the only) state with an active MG program in each county, where each county has its own set of programs, because the state is so big and the climate so varied. The fact that Ken was able to take the class twice and never do community service says that in that county/state no one is paying attention, as that was not a productive use of taxpayer dollars. Sorry to rant but it is frustrating to me to see community volunteers badmouthed. I do wish that they would change the name. It's idiotic. 'Nuff said!...See MoreFor those having posting and organizational issues...
Comments (1)Brad, I just commented on this in one of the alphabet threads where you graciously noted how to do this. Unfortunately for me, this part of the organization is not my problem. I have a "notation/label it when I photo" organization problem!! My garden is so large and my lilies so many I don't know all of them as I really should. I have resolved to do better this season and label my pics. For me, your post should inspire me to do that-I know I need to!!! Of course, next year when alphabet thread time rolls around, you will be shaking your head and muttering that you have created a monster! Thanks. Kate...See Morerob333 (zone 7b)
