Comments (5)The OP is posting from the UK. Look at the 2d pic. Is the pic distorted or is the back really that slanting? If the pic is accurate there may have been a special use for that chair. I've seen alot of Eastlake side chairs but never one with a back like that, perhaps something unique to the English?...See MoreSW Blonde for Master ? Decatur Buff, Powell Buff rest of house
Comments (6)I used Blonde in a west facing room and it looked more orange than I was expecting and I didn't really like it. I have seen photos of it and I did like it, but the lighting may have been different. If you're not in a hurry, you might want to get a Color To Go sample, paint it on a foam board and see how it looks in the room at different times of day. If you like green, you might consider neutral gray greens. A few suggestions: SW Grassland, Comfort Gray, or Austere Gray. They all look great with warm woods and you can accent them with a lot of different colors - navy blue, burgundy, gold, dark green, beige or even bright colors like turquoise or orange. Comfort Gray is my all time favorite. If you try the Blonde and it seems too goldish/orange for you, check out SW Ivoire (on the same strip as Blonde, but lighter and less gold) or SW Believable Buff or Whole Wheat. Good luck....See MoreAntique chair
Comments (11)Thanks everyone... when I was given this I just thought "cool I will cover with some funky fabric and re-paint it". Now I want to give it the attention and time it deserves! The current paint is definitely from the last covering, but I don't know if there is other paint underneath, or how many layers! I am seeking advice before I begin any paint removal. And given that in 4 hours I have been able to remove about 15 inches of tacks (there are tacks on top of tacks on tops of tacks, and I am trying to remove them slowly/carefully so I don't rip into the timber too much) it's going to be a very long process. I have never done a project like this or even owned anything like this before. So I am just going to be slow and methodical and see what happens! Will def post pics, eventually!...See MoreNeed help figuring out whats missing!
Comments (82)Wow, first time in a long time, that scrolling through here, I see a room, I could actually live in, and feel comfortable in. Most are so absolutely dull and perfect, that having a cup of coffee in one of them, would make me very uncomfortable. I love your room. I do like the idea of the darker teal curtain panels, and I would look for a much lighter shade of that teal for the walls....See MoreSeajay Sparkles
