Holy smokes! Just checked Scherr's prices! :)
Comments (29)I just wanted to comment on Scherr's - we got custom doors for an older IKEA sink cabinet about 4 years ago from them for a rental until. They were wonderful to work with! We sent out the old doors - IKEA no longer makes that cabinet - and they made a copy and sent them to us. I was first going to paint them, but my husband decided to have them paint the doors. We were so pleased! The shipment was packed beautifully and made it to us in great condition. The spaces for the hinges were on the replacement cabinets and the paint was Fabulous. It has held up for 2 tenants in our condo - and still looks great. This was a wonderful family-owned company that delivers and is easy to work with - to create a great purchase experience. I am now considering to have them do custom cabinets for our kitchen. They are the best!...See MoreJust checking -- maintaining figs at shrub size
Comments (7)Soon you will be like the rest of us in here and other fig forums. 2 varieties will just not be enough, and you will figure out a way to get 4 varieties on that same wall! So they co-mingle... Not a bad thing! I don't know what planting zone you are in. You should put that next to your name so others can recommend good varieties for you. Desert King is delicious, but only puts out a Breba crop. Others give you 2 crops per year. I just had a thought. Is the south wall, your house, and are you on a slab? Fig roots can do serious damage to slabs, so you might either want them in large pots or quite a distance from that south wall. If you have a basement, you should be fine. You have a Green with red center fig AKA Desert King, and Negrone, a Dark fig with a red interior. You need a honey golden fig like LSU Gold or my fav, Mary Lane Seedless... Comments (1)I don't know the name (have only handful of cacti), but have few suggestions. Brownish bottom looks like corking, and that is normal for many cacti. But smell doesn't sounds very good. I would unpot it - it may be difficult to take it out of that recurved pot - and check the roots. They could be damaged. If so, they could regrow if plant is healthy enough. It jwould need to be potted in different pot and probably different mix (one that drains well). The color doesn't look right either. Rotting plant could send out new shoots, so if main plant is sick, it tries to 'replace' itself. They could be left where they are, or if original plant is sick, they may be potted separately. As for pot, it is much better to use regular pot, plastic or other, that is not recurved. Attached saucer is also not allowing for good drainage. I had few of the same type, and threw them out.....See Morecaroline94535
