When do Royals start to grow fast
Comments (14)I think about 1 lb per 100 square feet. The key is to spread it out evenly in the pot and not a lot right next to the trunk. Tree spikes are not very good because the fertilizer does not spread to all the roots. Here we can use a little more fertilizer because of the heat and moisture is abundant and palms grow all yr around.I usually just spread the fertilizer evenly in the pot and don't worry to much about exacts unless the palm is showing deficiency's....See MoreRoyal Jubilee
Comments (41)Thanks for posting additional photos, Suncoast. The second set of photos have a similar color to RJ, but you mention that your rose is thornless. I'm surprised that HMF describes RJ as thornless or nearly so. It has thorns of varying sizes. The open bloom does not have a flat rosette or button eye like your first photo, but as you describe your rose this is not representative of a typical bloom... The buds on RJ have a pointed shape to them. I took photos of foliage and thorns, the winter damaged canes give another view of the thorns:...See MoreAustin Royal Jubilee
Comments (57)Mme Anisette is very tall! Like 4 ft. Lots of healthy growth but no more buds since the one I had early summer. Not sure if it is midges, but it seems more like blind shoots like I had all last year. Well maybe next year will be better for this rose. Maybe it needs more sun and heat or less humidity like Cori Ann's garden?...See MoreCould my Spirit of Freedom be mislabeled Royal Jubilee
Comments (5)Thank you, romogen your SoF images are beautiful. I sure hope my other one is the real thing and looks like yours. Thank you Marlorena. I'm happy to have RJ, but also really wanted SoF. Also, I planted it nexy to Rose de Rescht. I don't think those will look quite as good together. I guess I'll have to move yet another rose. Seems like I do that quite a bit. In my photos, RJ hadn't faded as much as it did in the following days. I never thought it looked bad though. I'lI have to go check the foliage on my other 2 roses from that order. Thanks again for your help, Julie...See Morehaku84_zone9
